Look at the Pokes of OSU ahead of the Shorthorns. Maybe we can swap them out?

Interesting factoids:

Only 10 teams own winning records against ranked opponents; four are current members of the SEC (Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU).

Of those 10, only two have a winning % of at least 75.

To fall to .500, the following teams would need to lose the following number of games in a row against ranked teams:
Alabama - 46
OSU - 31
UGA - 24
Clemson - 16
Oklahoma - 15
Notre Dame - 8
Oregon - 5
TCU - 3
Washington - 2
LSU - 1

That is ugly. Of course the CFP era coincides with Auburn's worst football slump in our history.

But would we still be ahead of Rutgers?

This is interesting. Numbers 4-9 definitely benefitted from not being in the SEC. Especially the SEC west.

It’s rather striking how many more games Bama has played than most of the other top teams.

What are they considering ranked? To start the year, finish the year, or just 1 week. These stats are so stupid. You can claim a “ranked win” against a team that finishes 3-9. Congrats.

We'd only have to win 23 in a row vs ranked teams to be at .500 ! Yes !

during the 12 seasons of the CFP era (2014-25) AU has played 142 games

66 of those games (46.5%) were against ranked opponents

Going past the W/L and looking at the total ranked games played, the SEC looks to be the only conference with teams having more than 60. Bama at 79 ranked opponents is impressive.

Nebraska 2-34

2nd to last

That’s crazy.

It’s because they rank SEC teams high every year. If they ranked ACC teams high then they’d have a lot more ranked wins. It’s all a scam to get your money and you SEC guys eat it up. There wasn’t 1 poll all year that got the rankings right. Not one had Indiana ranked 1 and Miami ranked 2, yet after the games were played that was the result. The polls are so biased they have become irrelevant.

But, again, the preseason polls will have the SEC teams ranked highly based in nothing except your fans are willing to spend more money. A ranked Bama lost to an unranked FSU to start last year and no brings up how wrong the polls were.

Bama played in the SEC CG plus had 1-2 playoff games most of those years. All of those games would be ranked..

Either way, it’s impressive and Alabama is well.. Alabama.

Worry about scoring an offensive touchdown for once in the past what 3-4 years against Texas. You have 0 room to throw any shade lol.

Also a lot different playing top 1-10 teams that osu playing in the big 12 the past 2 years against top 20-25 teams, but whatever sooner

This stat isn't very useful unless they specify what "ranked" means. If it means AP ranking at the end of the season, it's interesting. If it means ranking at gametime, it's worthless.

Bama finished the season in the CFP while FSU finished the season unranked so it seems like the polls were actually right and the outcome of that one game was an outlier.

Well... that may be but oSu was also 6-4 head to head vs Texas during that time. So maybe not all that different after all
