Exactly.

The 6th seed win it all last year and the 10th seed could win it all this year.

Going back to 8 now would be asinine since it has been proven the 10th seed is a legit contender.

Who knows but a 15th seeded Texas may have made the final or a 13th seeded Notre Dame.

Stop all the gatekeeping.

I guess I don’t see what everyone’s issue is with more playoff games. I honestly don’t think it’s a matter of more games is watering down the impact of other games. I think it’s a mindset in general of all or nothing that’s killing the interest in other games. That’s just a result of this instant gratification society.

Why? We have teams that couldn’t even qualify for their championship game going to nattys. That’s not what college football used to be about.

Ha. This has to be a troll.

I think we can probably all agree beyond 16 is a bad idea. That'd make it 18 games for two final teams if they made their conference championship. Ridiculous. Would take 5 CFP wins to win it all.

Nope. I liked it better when you needed to run the table and win the conference. We have a team that sat home championship weekend while fricking Duke played. And they get rewarded with a bye basically for losing. That’s not cool.

So in the age of 16-18 team super conferences, you think only one team out of each one should make it to an 8 team playoff? Nevermind that they are all not equal and have different tiebreaker rules.

So have you always been a simp or is this something new you’re trying out?

Win your conference then. It’s not complicated.

the simp is the one who wants to sit home championship weekend then get to try and claim a natty. That’s a bitch love but typical alabanana fan.

8 would be ideal if no charity auto bids

If they insist on make a wish bids, 12 is the perfect number IMO

There is a lot more parity now, the difference between #3 and #8 is a lot less that in the past. 4 team playoff wouldn’t work anymore

I really hope they don’t keep expanding, but they probably will because they want the TV packages. Maybe the increased viewership for bowl games will keep them at bay

Use some type of multiple combined ranking systems.
Zero automatic bids!
Seed tournament 1-12.
1-4 have the byes.
First round: 5vs12, 6vs11, 7vs10 and 8vs9 (high seed hosts)
Second round: first round winners vs teams with byes. (Bye teams host)
Semi Finals: Dome Bowl games (tbd)
Finals: Dome Bowl game (tbd)

I agree. The only way I could get on board ( and I greatly just prefer 12 or 16) is if it just followed the FCS model. All 8 conference champs are auto bids ( not top 8 seeds, just a seat at the table). The rest are just open for the remaining 16 best teams. All games on campus except for the national title game. 1 week between games

12 is an awful outcome for the SEC considering the move to 9 game conf schedules

Lots of 3 loss teams will be on the outside

The more they add the more undeserving that get in and more that will gripe that they got left out.

8 max but 6 is better.

Go back to mythical or put in minimum of 64. All that matters now anyway. Eliminate 3 regular season games.

I prefer mythical national champions and bring back regional conferences.
