Ohio State
FSU
Bama
Oregon

They might flip Oregon and Bama, but Texas would be out.

A LOT of teams would beat Texas by 14 points. They have squeaked by some very weak competition.

Wait so you’re comparing OM defense to GA?

Texas beat the eva loving dog shite out of Bama and made Milroe look like a retard.

GA defense is elite.

Milroe will look like doo doo against a good defense.

Oregon would have avenged its 3 point loss on the road.. Bama still has the 10 point loss at home to one of the other 1 loss teams. Yall just can’t get past you think Bama belongs in no matter what actually happens.

As is normally the case who is most likely to be one of the 4 best teams in the country after 12 or 13 games? Does Texas beat Alabama now in a nuetral site game? Unlikely. Does anyone not named Alabama beat UGA anywhere? Unlikely. As was the case last year and the year before that Alabama and UGA are the best teams in the country in November, maybe not in September in the case of Alabama but by the second week of December if Alabama still has only one loss there is little doubt that Alabama and UGA would beat anyone in the nation given a month to prepare and get healthy. The winner of the SECG gets in. If UGA wins the SEC no one is beating UGA. If Alabama wins the SECCG UGA doesn't get in without some help but there is little doubt that Alabama would beat anyone with a month to prepare and get healthy.

Tezas deserves the spot over Alabama, let's just be fair about this.

Oregon? Meh. Alabama's SOS will be much better and their resume tops the Ducks at that point. It would be hard for the committee to justify putting them in over a 12-1 Bama.

The playoff should be about where teams are in November relative to the entirety of the season not where they were in September. Alabama is MUCH better in November than they were in September while Texas is not much improved if any. Yes, Texas beat Alabama convincingly in Tuscaloosa and that win is impressive. If they played again today anywhere, Austin included, it is pretty likely that Alabama would prevail because they have improved while Texas has not.

If Alabama wins the SEC CG the playoff should consist of the winner of the OSU/Michigan game, Alabama, Georgia and take your pick between FSU, Texas, Oregon or Washington. No matter who the other 2 teams are if UGA and Alabama make it to the playoff the championship game will be a rematch of 2021 and 2017. No one has looked as complete as UGA and no one is as improved as Alabama. When UGA has a team that has garnered the Dawgs attention they beat the shite out of them. Alabama is getting better every week and is playing as well as anyone in the nation. Either would walk anyone else in the nation.

UGA and Alabama are not both getting in. It's one or the other this year.

You think you're trolling Bama fans but you're only trolling yourself. The Sec winner is getting in. Everyone on this board knows it. If you don't, then you are a first class idiot.

Probably, but maybe not

Bama won’t jump Texas or any undefeated conference champ and they MIGHT get left out for a 1 loss Oregon

Someone probably loses to keep this scenario from happening; but Alabama does not control their own destiny for the playoffs

They need help, Georgia is 100% in if they win out, Bama is likely in, but not guaranteed

No doubt. The playoff committee has often times not selected the 4 best teams they selected the best teams that had won their conference and this year will be no different.

If Texas passed the eye test the rest of the way there is no way Alabama should be selected ahead of them...but Texas has not passed the eye test several times since they played Alabama. Texas lost to a team that lost to a team that just got annhilated by Central Florida...

What about 12-1 Georgia? They are likely to be #1 tomorrow. Say Georgia loses to Alabama 20-17. Do they fall all the way to #5? I kinda doubt it. There's precedent here for this btw. They were blown out by Alabama in 2021 in SEC Championship and only fell to #3. Something to think about. A 12-0 Georgia might be 'in' no matter what happens in SEC Championship game.

Head to Head will trump eye test with all other things equal. Despite the context of Week 2 compared to today or even the end of the season, it will and should keep UTx ahead of Bama if neither lose again.

That said, a one-loss Conf champ, UTx and/or Bama will jump over a one-loss Conf champ FSU, Oregon, UW, or Michigan. If not, what is the point of playing a tough schedule?

Bama needs some of those losses to materialize. If they don't and a one-loss Bama SEC Champ is left out, those are the breaks. Many teams have been punished for scheduling a formidable OOC opponent and playing in a good conference.

The CFP committee is only consistent in its inconsistent application of ranking philosophies, so who knows?

All that said, AU is never an easy out, and UGA is a beast, so it's all academic at this point. Still a good bit of football left to upset some apple carts between rivalry weekend and CCG weekend.

It’s a scenario conversation. Has nothing to do with me “trolling” Alabama.

Get out your feels numbnuts. God forbid someone wants to talk football

However I agree the SEC winner should get in but if the scenario played out exactly like I said it’s possible they get left out.

What about 12-1 Georgia?

It could happen, but it's shaping up to be really tight at the top.

A P5 Conf champ has never been left out for a non-Conf champ when W-L records were equal. That would be crushing for UGA given how much they've done, but, like the Bama situation, it is what it is when it's all said and done.

This year Ohio state/Michigan are better than Alabama/Georgia and the cup rankings say that. Georgia is not that good this year.

Do I think Texas is winning out? No, I don't.

If I am wrong, and both Texas and Bama win out, Texas will be in the CFP before Bama. No doubt. If you have to ask why, you don't understand very much about the world.
