re: What would happen if the USD was displaced as the global reserve currency?
Posted by BlackPawnMartyr on 12/30/25 at 6:22 pm to Bass Tiger
If we ever thought we were going to lose it we would need to go to WW3. Before we did that we would need a lot of bodies, therefore we would have to bring in a mass immigration first, then start a massive patriotic propaganda campaign to increase recruitment and bring people together before the great war.

re: EU will not steal Russian assets
Posted by BlackPawnMartyr on 12/19/25 at 9:49 am to ScottFowler
Euroclear wanted to make all of the European countries individually accountable for the full amount of the assets taken. The EU countries would not agree to this because they never were going to give the money back just try to hide behind group bureaucracy and in blaming. However, this was always a very poor short term strategy. While it would fund the war of Europe against Russia for the next 6 months to a year, it would have very long devastating consequences as few new investments from across the globe would then be trusted to go into European banks and likely many removed in the near present.

It basically nationalized tickok under threat. Its a win if you approve of such actions.

re: My Christmas gift giving between family members rant
Posted by BlackPawnMartyr on 12/16/25 at 9:35 pm to Morpheus
My dad wanted a gift card to Dicks sporting goods My sisters said my part was $75. My dad informed me he was spending 200 on me so i told him just to get me a Dicks gift card for $125 saving me the Zelle effort to my sis. He was nice enough to send it a head of time. I went to Dicks sporting goods and bought 5 $25 gift cards for my nieces and nephews. Looks to be another Merry Christmas.
re: Trump orders complete blockade of sanctioned oil tankers from Venezuela
Posted by BlackPawnMartyr on 12/16/25 at 8:14 pm to deltaland
This is what i could find on Chat gpt, but if you know more lets see the receipts.
quote:
from the 1910s through the 1950s, Venezuela granted concessions mainly to U.S. and British companies
Low royalties at first: Early deals paid Venezuela very little per barrel.
Tax advantages: Companies had wide latitude to deduct costs and minimize taxable profits.
quote:
Venezuela pushes back: the 50/50 profit split
In 1948, Venezuela pioneered a major shift:
Introduced a 50/50 profit-sharing system
Companies still controlled operations, but government revenues rose sharply
At this point, the deal was much closer to fair by international standards.
quote:
By the 1970s:
Oil prices had surged
Producing countries had strong leverage
Many nations moved toward:
State ownership
Production-sharing agreements (PSAs)
Full nationalization
Compared to newer models:
Venezuela still lacked operational control
Foreign companies still repatriated large profits
Pricing power increasingly favored companies
So what once looked fair in 1948 looked outdated by 1975.
quote:
When Venezuela nationalized:
Companies were compensated
Assets were purchased rather than seized outright
No mass confiscations like in Iran (1951) or Russia (1917)
The U.S. government did not impose major sanctions
Relations remained functional for years

Yeah, it's hard for people to imagine that US corporations can invest millions and maybe billions of dollars in a country having signed all legal documents that set forth the terms. And then a dictator takes over the country and kicks these companies out with no compensation.
That would be unfair if all the terms were fair. How much were we giving them for the oil we produced and how did it compare to market cost at that time? Its only unfair if it was a fair deal. Too many times we are the ones putting the dictator in to steal the resources for pennies on the dollars. Maybe it was different here though. Lets see the receipts.
re: Susie Wiles: Putin wants to control entire Ukraine and no Peace Deal will stop him
Posted by BlackPawnMartyr on 12/16/25 at 1:23 pm to RelicBatches86
They are conflating territorial absorption with political control. Russia will take the russian majority provinces that Ukraine was attacking as a punishment to Ukraine being a Nato proxy. Then of course the war can not completely end until the rest of Ukraine becomes free of Cia & Nato influence. Also i would recommend to Russia that they get a major base in Odessa in order to further protect it from Cia and Nato military build up.

I just think the whole thing is bizarre
Whats bizarre about it? We have coveted their massive proven oil reserves for decades and the US gulf is littered with processing units specially built to for heavy crude that is now being underutilized. By hook or by crook we will get that oil because controlling resources is what a hegemonic empire does.
Now selling it to the extremely stupid public, easy enough when they are willing to believe whatever ridiculous thing you tell them.

re: Military strength comparison between the United States and Venezuela
Posted by BlackPawnMartyr on 11/29/25 at 11:03 pm to SPEEDY
This is retarded. Everyone knows the airforce is a mismatch since the US spends billions on it. The real question is if the US has the balls to land troops or sit back at sea and lob missiles.
