At this point, I don’t think LSU knows whether they fired Brian Kelly or not. And if they did, they have no idea why.
In a week it may come out that they actually named Brian Kelly school president, and no one will know whether it was a mistake or intentional.

Dumbasses should have understood there's no way any school would talk to Kelly while he was involved in a "firing for cause" lawsuit.
Plus they were setting themselves to be sued for defamation of character.
LSU leadership made Larry, Curley, and Moe look like Perry Mason.

LSU poors have royally fricked this up. I would say they are 90% likely to hire down now and they are headed to Nebraska status.
Nah, LSU has too many natural advantages to go completely in the crapper like my school.
That said, there’s the means to simply spend insane amounts of money….and then there’s spending money wisely.
LSU needs to hit a home run on this next HC hire - actual results wise.

He was clearly fired for on the field performance.
True. When do W/L targets start getting written into HC contracts? Something like an at-will clause to include performance metric targets could save these schools this cost and embarrassment. It's fricking stupid, especially in this portal/NIL era.

That’s good news for BK & LSU, to be honest.
Trying to scrape together a “for cause” termination after the fact is really slimy.
Yeah this is good news. It was a dumb move by LSU anyway. I am sure it was done as negotiating ploy to reduce the buyout. Both LSU and Kelly want to get this over with quick. Kelly stated the first day that he was open to a negotiated payment. LSU offered 25 million and Kelly countered with 43 and LSU came back with 30. It was after this when all the bickering started. I suspect they will end up with a one time payment of around 37 million and be done with it all. Kelly wants to coach again according to him. I think he is stupid. He is 64 years old. If its me I take the 800,000 a month until 2031 and enjoy retirement.

Turns out losing to teams ranked #3, #7, and #14 doesn't doesn't apply when it comes to firing somebody for cause. Shocker.

What makes LSU such a desirable job is that it’s impossible to become Nebraska, too much local talent and the local talent is loyal to the school unlike in states like Florida or California where they are used to be recruited nationally
Nebraska died because it’s a small state that doesn’t produce a lot of local talent, you have to recruit nationally there and it’s hard to do that when you aren’t winning

It Sexton cuts LSU off, you’re done. Best to learn that he runs college football…not your politicians.

Story has legs…it looks like the CLK and Sexton may have broken them at LSU…
LSU wasn't just screwing with BK's money they were royally screwing Sexton out of his money in this mess. Sexton caused LSU's coaching search to drop to high school candidate status over the BK fiasco. At least this is now resolved so we are no longer on the Coaching blacklist.
