It seems they work pretty hard when a re-election rolls around.

Outside of that, they usually hit the Sunday morning talk shows, hold hearings that make for great sound bites and occasionally fire off a sternly worded letter.

I’m hard pressed to think of anything substantive or notable outside of that in recent years.

I don’t believe many here would genuinely wish these people treated like the Jews in 1930s-40s Nazi Germany.

But it is a reference of accuracy because these people are here ILLEGALLY and some of them intentionally game the system (that we all get taxed to prop up).

Many of us simply want them to go back home. If they wish to become citizens of this country then go through the proper legal processes (like so many before have done).

I personally hold no genuine ill will and I realize these people are primarily pawns of the games that the politicians (that you would seem to support) have chosen to play upon this country.

My true ire is for those politicians and that political party.

Would be great to see the Bills finally get over the hump and get back to the SB.

It’s always enjoyable to see the Progressive monster turn its attention on one of it’s own proponents.

That is Canada’s choice and it would appear they’ve made it. For now.

I personally do not think a future tightly aligned with Western Europe and CCP as Western European nations aggressively move towards abolishing their historical national identities in favor of open borders and an authoritarian governmental CCP style model that also aggressively seeks to punish and eliminate wrongthink and wrongspeak is a winning strategy for the long term future.

The U.S. may have “betrayed” being a leading voice towards implementing that model everywhere but if so, I’m glad we betrayed it.

I understand what you say, but I guess my bigger picture viewpoint is, even if the situation presented itself someday where it was deemed a “necessary risk” (such as Taiwan), why have we allowed ourselves to reach a point where there’s any level of financial “risk” to consider when it comes to dealing with a gigantic communist country?

I can’t imagine us ever having put ourselves in such a situation with the old Soviet Union, at any time.

But because the CCP has smartly put a seemingly friendly “capitalist/business” mask on its face, we’ve been lulled into approaching them differently.

Not liking the optics on this one and doesn’t do much to separate the “pay to play” aspect from the regular DC scoundrels we rail against.

(See Progs - you can still fully support a president and not 100% rubber stamp and be blindly obedient to every single thing that comes about during that person’s administration.)

These Armageddon type news items/threads only ever seem to reinforce the underlying notion that CCP has this country firmly by the gonads.

There’d never be any situation where we could truly risk pizzing off the Chinese communist party.

How in the world did this country manage to get itself in this precarious position in the first place?

Doesn’t seem to be a very favorable spot to be in.
