Of course Ole Miss is a rival of LSU’s.

Half of your fanbase refuses to acknowledge Texas as a rival so don't tell me the SEC looks goofy here.

And yes, LSU and Ole Miss are rivals. An unequal rivalry in the post-integration era though.

Burrow is just throwing shade and making light of Ole Miss' inability to cheat without getting caught.

Kinda like when L8U does it with Bama.

I was going to post that myself because I can’t stand that sort of mean-spirited sneering.

Is it a rival when one team kicks the arse of the others as over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over?

He didn’t throw shade. The kid is from Ohio and Ole Miss has sucked arse most of his lifetime. They are pretty irrelevant nationwide.

So you agree Tennessee is no longer your rival?

Jacob Hester said he—and most of his old teammates—considered Florida their biggest rival. Said it on today’s Hey Fightin’ podcast...

That 2007 game was one of the best games ever at Tiger Stadium without a doubt.

His dad, uncle and aunt all attended Ole Miss.

He lived in Ohio but that's not really home. His dad is a Mississippi baw through and through. It's not some accident Burrow feels at home in the SEC.

He clarified to say while that game was awesome, it wasn’t the reason they considered Florida their main rivals. Said the games were always mean...bad blood, rough language, chippy play. Just said both sides despised each other, but that it was magnified because the players were elite. Talked about the 2006, 2007, 2008 championships between the teams.

Just because Ole Miss was our rival in the 50's doesn't mean they are now. Get a grip old man. And Im 40.

His Dad played for Nebraska. I don’t stalk players so really don’t know details but whatever. Ole Miss is still irrelevant

Walked on at Ole Miss. Transferred because Ole Miss didn't match scholarship offer from Nebraska.

So many thoughts..

I didn't see anyone here chatting about the shade he threw at the Rebels.

I heard the clip on the radio and immediately thought “ouch”.

Anyone who thinks Florida is LSU’s biggest rival doesn’t know anything about LSU’s rivalries.

In recent years, Florida and Auburn have probably been our two most competitive series. Historic rivalries and trophies are nice and all, but if the games aren’t competitive who cares?

That's because your main rival left the conference 50 years ago and now competes in the AAC.

I’m just thankful the SEC gave us aTm to fill the void in our souls since Tulane left.

Nah, I’m really just glad we don’t have to play Arky on Friday after Thanksgiving anymore.

But to the point of the thread, the Ole Miss game ain’t what it used to be. I’ve had fans of both schools look at me funny when I say “geaux to hell Ole Miss” and it’s kinda sad.

Ole Miss is a team I hate very much but I don't think of them as a rival. For me, a rivalry has to mean we've lately more often than not played tight games and played games that meant something.

As such only over the last 10 years, I can only think of:

Auburn
Florida
Alabama

You could maybe say Arkansas is to us like Tennessee to Bama but it's really a made up rivalry that hasn't meant much lately.

That's it really.
