On a neutral field Miami was 3 scores better than anybody in 1988.

What if Florida hired Dan Mullen after the 2009 season?
Mullen no doubt keeps some of Meyer's core staffers that he eventually took to Ohio State, leaving us in a better spot with off-field personnel (something that we lag other elite programs in by 5-7 years at a minimum).
We never suffer the lost decade of 2010-2018, and likely take 2-3 SECCG appearances from Mizzou and UGA.

What if Tre Mason tripped at the ten yard line rather than running in our last TD in the 2013 NCG?

Nutt would still find a way to screw it up.

What if Nick Saban chose Drew Brees over Dante Culpepper?
Likely Saban stays in the NFL, and Bama continues to be average maybe?
Paving the way for teams like LSU, UGA, Auburn, Florida to win more Nattys.
Yeah, I’m pretty pumped that Saban went to Bama so we could know what it feels like to win a NC.

For Bama fans:
What if Bo Scarborough doesn’t get hurt against Clemson in the 2017 CFP National Championship Game (2016 season)?
What if Eddie Jackson doesn’t get hurt during the 2016 season?

Except against Michigan, Notre Dame and Arkansas that year.

He would have at least 6 titles at LSU. Stop kidding yourself.

Well, I mean y’all weren’t what u are now before Saban. Very average. I’m sure you guys would atleast get one NC with some coach, but the dominance is not the same. Leading to teams like LSU winning the NC in ‘11 and UGA winning it in ‘17.

I misread "we" as "he"

What if Bear Bryant had remained at Kentucky?

What if the SEC never expanded?
What if Petrino hadn't wrecked his Harley?
What if FSU hadn't been wide right so many damn times in the '90s?

What if Bo Rein didnt die in that plane crash?
What if Brodhead (or was it Joe Dean) hired Spurrier instead of Mike Archer?
What if Les came up with a different game plan for 21-0??

What if LSU could tie their shoes better

Saban's winning percentage was lower at LSU.
He would have won, and won big...but not as big. Remember: Francione over Saban, 31-0. He's never been beat like that at Alabama.
He's the right coach at the right place at the right time. Ligtning in a bottle. If Saban follows Bear Bryant instead of the NCAA/Fran/Price/Schula, it could have ended differently.
Saban wasn't a rock star with a natty and NFL head coaching experience to his name when he went to LSU - and yet he still built a program that won a natty and was primed for more.
Alabama's success since 2007 has a helluva lot more to do with Saban than Bama. If Saban never leaves LSU he wins many national titles and Bama quite possibly zero.

He wasn't a rock star at LSU either. Never put together a back-to-back 10 win season.
