I think A&M could miss a bowl, so I guess I'll say they will be the biggest disappointment even though their fans don't seem to be expecting much this season.

Is it really considered a disappointment If it’s expected?

Ftr, I think we make a bowl, but nuthin’ close to Jan. 1.

Uga disappoint? We lose 18 starters and 43 seniors, so 9-3 would be amazing.

Both bad choices. Mississippi State has a new scheme with a mobile QB coming off a leg injury and you think they'll surprise people in a good way? Incredibly unlikely.

The problem with what you say about Georgia is that we could have given up 10 more points a game on defense last year and we would have only lost one more game in the regular season- the game to Notre Dame. The majority of our games we could have given up 20 more points and still have won.

There are too many new coaches for there to be a really big positive surprise. The SEC is going to be down this year overall due to all the turnover.

The biggest negative surprise will be South Carolina. Everybody thinks they're going to challenge UGA, but they won't improve on last years record. They'll lose to UGA, they'll lose to Clemson, they're at Kentucky and they will lose for the 5th time in a row to them, and then thy will drop 1 or 2 of Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Florida, Tennessee, and Missouri. My guess is that Jimbo gets them and they lose what a lot of people consider to be a surprise at Ole Miss.

Yea, just based on expectation levels the disappointment for me has to be Mississippi State. I think they'll be solid, but I'm not sure they'll get through their schedule with 2 or even 3 losses.

@ Kansas State
@ Kentucky
Florida
Auburn
@ LSU
Texas A&M
@ Alabama
@ Ole Miss

As for surprises, I'd say Ole Miss. I could see them going 7-5 if they have good injury luck.

My other one would be Kentucky. Their defense gets 10 guys back and 7 back on offense. Snell is back. They have built up pretty decent depth now with 4 solid recruiting classes. They should have 4 wins in the bag (CMU, Murray, Vandy, MTSU) and then have 5 big swing games (MSU, USC, @ MIZ, @ UT, @ Lville). I could see them going 8-4.

Georgia is my big disappointment pick. Kirby was ahead a schedule last year and now they got unreal expectations coming into this year. They will loose 4 or 5. They will loose to the Gamecocks and Mizzou and they will be realing. They will rebound against Tennessee and Vandy cause they both suck. Then they will loose at least 2 out of LSU, Auburn and Georgia Tech. Maybe all 3.

My surprise team is the Gamecocks. They will win the east.

No surprises or disappoints in the West. It will go like it supposed to. Bama on top. Followed by Auburn then Miss St then LSU then Texas A@M then Arkansas and Ole Miss on the bottom.

Fans should expect 8-4 due to QB play and lack of depth at OL and LB, but if we stay healthy and Franks' limitations are mitigated, we could easily go 10-2 or 11-1 next year.

Mississippi State can be damn good this year with their depth chart. We will see. Their ceiling is second in the west.

That was kind of my point with the first part of that post. I don't really see any team being disappointing because most don't have high expectations.

A&M's season will be disappointing in that I don't think the record will be as good as the past several years, and you'll have to to deal with the talking heads acting like firing Sumlin was a mistake.

I have A&M going 6-6 right now, so I do have them making a bowl. It's just a brutal schedule. All the toughest conference games are on the road except LSU and one of the best teams in the country as the P5 OOC opponent.

Can’t say I disagree. Losing to Taggart and Pruitt will also have Florida fans questioning if the AD made a bad choice.

Surprise: Mississippi State
Disappointment: Tennessee/Florida - I think both fanbases underestimate the long road ahead

I’m out of touch then. I didn’t realize UTk fans were that down on this year. Is it roster/depth holes mostly?

If Georgia loses the early test on the road to Carolina the season could turn out a little disappointing compared to last year. Florida will probably be a good bit better than last year so they could be a surprise team.

LSU's offense has a lot of question marks. But the D, especially the front 7, is going to wreck people if they stay healthy. Aranda is going to earn his raise.

Disappointments- *LSU- LSU will disappoint mainly because the schedule is insanely difficult. Losses to Miami, Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn are all likely. Drop just one more game and that puts them at 7-5 and fans will NOT be happy. I think 6-6 is even possible.

I think 7-5 is their ceiling. It's going to be a long year on the bayou.
