Surprise: UF, which will cause major disappointment for UGA. The East is going to get much better now and the winner of the East will have to prepare for more than a three game season.

Surprise: Florida- Mullen is a very good coach, and if they ever get a quarterback semi-situated, there's not a shortage of talent to be utilized. It may not be flying at 100%, but they're going to spin up that program in no time.

Disappointment: MSU/LSU: MSU mostly because they're going to have to lean too heavily on a returning Fitzgerald, as they lose most of their offensive creativity that was the genesis of Mullen as the QB whisperer.

LSU, for obvious reasons. Orgeron is still Orgeron, and the West isn't getting any easier.

You so badly want this to be true.

*LSU- LSU will disappoint mainly because the schedule is insanely difficult. Losses to Miami, Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn are all likely. Drop just one more game and that puts them at 7-5 and fans will NOT be happy. I think 6-6 is even possible.

Miami
@Auburn
Ole Miss
@Florida
Georgia
State (right after GA and FL)
Alabama
@Arkansas (after the Bama game)
@A&M

That's one hell of a schedule, getting 4 wins out of there is going to be difficult. But who knows, 9-3 might not look sexy to an LSU fan but that would be a damn good campaign considering

That would be disappointing, but not to worry. We aren't considered an SEC school, we are just in the SEC. So no need for anyone to be disappointed.

9 years of proof that it couldn't be much worse.

After seeing the replies:

Surprise: UGA. Turns out Fromm and Co. haven't all died in a fire and the coaching staff does this thing called reloading.

Disappointment: Auburn is due for one of those perfect 8-4 seasons. Other disappointments will include the hopes and dreams of every program in the East sans UGA.

So you are ignoring all that proof in hopes the east suddenly improves a lot.

Surprise team-UGA. They will be the only team in the NCAA to average over 100 points a game.

Biggest Disappointment- Tenn. They think they found gold in Jeremy Pruitt. If he loses 2-3 games early on he will total self implode. He can’t handle the pressure of being a HC

I'm curious what the expectations of an average UT fan are. They are going to be a really young team and are coming off an atrocious season. They have a first time HC, OC, and DC. I honestly think making a bowl game wouldn't be terrible if you're a UT fan.

Every expectation I've seen and heard from Tennessee people is they will be frickin miserable this year.

My guess is that if Tennessee plays hard and physical, somehow finds a way to win 6 games and shows signs of life in recruiting that Tennessee folks will be pretty happy.

Anything outside of a 3-9/4-8 season would be equal to or exceeding their expectations IMHO. But maybe I'm way off base.

Disappointment- Georgia because they got lucky last year with so many teams in the east being down .

Surprise- A&M because they defense may not be so soft with a new staff. I would UF because they could actually have an offense for once but that’s a homer pick .

1. We won by enough points to remove the luck part.
2. Are you saying the east is gonna be up?

Well, all you have to do is look at the coaching during that period. I think both UF and UT upgraded their HCs. It takes a very incompetent Coach at both places not to be competitive.
