Kentucky Derby. Unfortunately the weather canceled Thunder over Louisville this year. Thunder is an air show culminating in a world class fireworks show over the Ohio River.

Derby also includes a balloon race, Pegasus Parade and the steamboat race.

Derby Day is for all of America. Kentuckians love Oaks Day the day before.

That is an asinine comment considering NHL hockey is played as far south as south Florida, Texas & GA has had a few failed teams (only because ATL is a transplant city & most support other City’s teams). Any City would take an event like this. St. Louis has one D1 team, Lindenwood University. Missouri has no dogs in that fight. It’s 70 degrees here so not so frozen.

It failed in Atlanta for the same reason it failed in Phoenix. The arena was not near the hockey going fans.
