Whatever happened to Ben Davis. Wasn’t he supposed to be the next elite Bama LB?

He is seeing some playing time, but he hasn't lived up to billing so far.

They’re bored. Will turn it on come playoff time.

Every year under Dabo they have a scare against a team well beneath them.

Heck in 2016 didn’t they lose to Pittsburgh but still won the natty?
BINGO.

September 2018:
- Beat A&N by 2
- Beat Syracuse by 4

Won their next 10 games by an average of 35.1 points.

They have been terrible. If they had lost that game, and really they probably should have they were outplayed, they have ZERO room for error with that schedule, they would not make the playoffs.

They smoked A&M. Dabo is bad at getting them up for games against no name teams in the early-middle part of the year.

You can count on them turning it on as the season goes.

Sanders had athlete listed next to his name. Also, Rivals and ESPN both have him as a four star.

You said composite 5* - which he is. Why change that aspect now?

He's also projected to play LB.

Alabama also has the #4 OLB (0.0011 from 5* status) and the #3 ILB. Alabama is also in the lead for the #3 WDE.

There are 31 composite 5* players. Of that, 15 are defensive players or Athletes projected to play defense.

Breakdown:
5 are uncommitted
Clemson has 4 and leads for 2
Alabama has 2
Washington, Georgia (leads for 1), LSU and Texas A&M have 1

Clemson's defensive class in 2020 is looking pretty nice. Even if they have a couple switch their commitments, it would take an absolute collapse for them to not end up with the top class.

And yet still, AU beat them. That is crazy.

Only due to injuries

Bingo ain't going to cut it. If they slip up ONCE they are finished and there won't be any turning it on, it won't matter.

They'll be watching the playoffs on TV.

Tony Brown was a 5 star HS player that played like a 3 star player at Bama.

The decline is real. Especially when Saban admits he wishes he was still at LSU.

Still can't believe he stated that recently. Saban doesn't make mistakes when he spits out information like that. Too Late now. We got the Crazy Cajun who hires the right guys.

And you really shouldn’t have Surtain. That was a signing day bag under the table type deal on an impressionable kid

Yea - if anybody's family was willing to risk it all for a bag of cash it would be the son of a 11 year NFL veteran who made $50M+.

Very logical.

You won't score 40 plus on it. We'll score 40 plus on yours.

It’s obvious Alabama’s two true freshmen linebackers aren’t ready for SEC ball.

Which injuries? Alabama got a lot of their “injured” players back for the Iron Bowl.

If only we had a 5 star qb to help up us outscore our opponents.

It's a catch 22. You can have five stars but lose them after 3 years, every year it'll catch up to you. I preached hitting that sweet spot in recruiting and you take your chances going national in recruiting. Fulmer learned that the hard way, for example.

I disagree on Bama defense not improving w/n the next few years.

Jacob Coker on that team would've made it the GOAT, imo.

Labryan Ray (5 star) will be back by LSU.

Shane Lee was the ESPN #1 ILB in 2019 and should have been a 5 star.
And the not so big secret at camp was Christian Harris was pushing Mcmillon before he went down.
Both of them have more raw ability as freshmen than Moses or Mcmillon did.

The coaches raved about DJ Dale in camp and Barmore has a Quinnen Williams type disruptive force to him.

The big key is the defense is still pretty simplified so they can play faster.
Even by A&M next week you'll see more playbook.

The big key is the depth for Alabama is they are 3 deep with 4 stars. While most schools, even the ones that recruit well, don't have that luxury sitting behind their starters.
