Don't care if it's already been posted.
I was 18 years old, had just moved across the country to Long Island, and was a probie on my first fire department. I volunteered to go into Manhattan on 9/11, and stepping up to say "send me" that day was a seminal moment of my life.
I lost two friends on FDNY that day.

The story of the first red white and clue out was very cool. First game back after 9/11 - 10 days after 9/11. In the days leading up to the game, there was a thread on TexAgs with the idea to get everyone on the top deck to dress in red, then white, then blue. It was TOTALLY grass roots. Student organizers got a bunch of shirts printed up fast to get to people for the game.
I'm still amazed that was pulled off.

The field has been adjusted a few times during different renovations. I believe it is lower than it was when I was in school by 5-8 ft and it is shifted by about 5 yds off of symmetry with the stadium in the current configuration with the 2nd and 3rd student levels having the north end aligned with the back of the endzone and the south end aligned with the goal line roughly.
Not an optical illusion or camera angle.

Thanks. Yes, it really was an amazing effort thought up, led, and carried out 100% by the 12th Man. They publicized it, created, ordered and sold the shirts (mostly at the stadium entrances I believe), and did it all in literally several days.

Thanks for stepping up. The red white and blue game is a memorial for your friends and the others that were lost and to tribute to you and those that responded. You might care to know the Aggie students that set up and did the original RWB game donated all the money..about $180,000 to New York Firefighter and Police charities.

Remember the thread and week well actually. Always struck me odd the kid leading the charge to Light The Letters on Kyle at TexAgs raised about what, 5K though? Over months or even a year? Never materialized and he likely just kept the money
