Are you in favor of having one conference, or do you wish we kept the two divisions?

Call me old school, but I loved the two divisions because we had traditional division rivals that made the games even more exciting. I also believe that bigger is not always better, so why mess with something, if it ain't broken?

I hope I'm wrong, but I think you will agree that the last few major changes made in college football have been absolute disasters!

I wish we had 2 divisions with 6 teams in each.

I would like to go back to 8 total. Maybe 10 I guess.

I wasn't a fan of admitting South Carolina and Arkansas to the SEC. Really didn't like adding Mizzou and A&M. Texas and Okie is completely insane and does nothing for the sport or for the conference as a regional entity. The SEC has no identity any longer. Might as well court Ohio State and Michigan to become members at this point.

As for the transfer portal and NIL, don't even get me started. College athletics has nothing to do with student athletes anymore. It's simply the minor leagues for the NFL and NBA. Why even require the athletes to attend classes at this point? The whole thing has become a joke.

Ole Miss fans are pretty pissed there will be no more coveted “SEC Western Division Champions” banners anymore.

As a fan I liked the two divisions, but I’m conservative by nature. I also love rivalries. I think this new format will be better for players’ experience

I think the SEC and the B1G will each go to 20 teams. The SEC could have 2 divisions, the original Ten and then the new arrivals.

Need 4 divisions, then a playoff within the conference to make the SECCG, then go play in the playoffs. That probably extends the season to 20 games if you reach the NC game.

Even though I’m being sarcastic, my gut is telling me that we will start seeing shite, with the extra games, like star players sitting out games. If I’m a college RB, and I’m getting the ball 25 times a game. That’s a lot of mileage and hits you’re putting on a RB1. Hell, we were down to 3 scholarship WRs by our bowl games due to injury and our 4th string QB. If we had to play an extra 5 games on top of that, we would be so fricked. Hopefully my concern won’t actually become a thing.

I’m glad divisions are over. For too long Auburn has played by far the toughest schedule in the conference (The West + Georgia) every season while Kentucky and others in the East got a much easier road.

Getting rid of divisions will come closer to evening out the schedule strengths.

Agreed. I still don’t think of Missouri as an SEC team. SEC has no identity. Also agreed on NIL. Student athlete is a myth now. So many of these athletes are total morons.

You're close.

4 divisions? Yes

Playoff within the Conference? Yes

SECCG? Yes

then go play in the playoffs? Not quite.

The winner of the SEC should go to the title game. And I would have a 6 team playoff within the SEC. 4 division winners plus 2 WC. Top 2 seeds get byes.

Also the SEC needs to add 4 more team to get to 20.

4 divisions of 5.

Play your division plus one other.

9 games conference schedule plus 3 OOC. (2 warm ups plus a big name)

Why?

Why not just have the champions play, and no byes? Seems like you’re just watering it down with that shite.

Sometimes the second best team is in the same division as the best.

Is the best team in the conference going to the playoffs or SECCG winner? If Georgia is undefeated, playing a 3 loss Ole Miss, and Ole Miss pulls off a 28-24 win, then Ole Miss goes automatically to the playoffs?

So what? Don't we want the best?

"We weren't good enough to be the best, so give us a second chance"?

That's a loser mentality.

I see the appeal, the sec is about to be a 16 team conference 9 of these programs recruit and spend money at an elite level. Without divisions you gotta be better than 8-9 of these programs. With divisions you have to better than at most five. Basically it gives the middle class more shots at Cinderella runs. More schools that believe they have a shot to win it makes for a healthier conference.

You might get a little disagreement on "the toughest schedule" thing.
