I don't remember UT fans complaining about playing Bama every year while UF and the Ole ball coach got to play a shitty LSU team every year.

LSU sucked worse than UT just a while ago. Also they have an Mississippi school type record against UT lol.

This. It only matters to them when they are competitive. Alabama and Tennessee were both Top 10 teams for much of the 1990s.

LSU shows "the jealousy" by going 15-6 against Tenn and Bama this century with more SEC Titles than both of them combined

The guaranteed loss that A&M gives them every year means they need all the help they can get.

The main reason neither of these can happen is Alabama/Tennessee

true statement...

Be honest, Bama wants to play Tenn every year because Tenn is in the shitter and has been for about 10 years now. The last time Bama played a schedule that ran them through any kind of gauntlet, they lost 3 games. Can't have that again, so magically UGA disappears from the schedule this year in place of Missouri and low and behold...replaced next year by Kentucky. Shocker.

It makes more sense with the new divisions to eliminate the permanent opponent and rotate the inter-divisional games equally across the board. Yes AU/UGA, UF/LSU, BAMA/TENN won't happen every year, but you get more AU/UF, LSU/UGA, BAMA/UF games and all of those are very interesting games that could all have national championship implications.

I know I was young in the 1990s, but I don't think too many Alabama fans were bitching about having to play Tennessee every year when both teams were national contenders for much of the decade.

They didn't have a natural recruiting base in the 1990s either, yet Fulmer was able to successfully recruit players from all over America to Knoxville.
Yeah, it pisses me off that they use to recruit North Alabama pretty hard.

If you look at their recruits this year, they have commitments from Hawaii, Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, California, Maryland, Colorado. Tennessee always recruits nationwide.

They will be back when they get a good coach.

I'm just glad they're sucking now. Karma for what their fat coach did to Alabama.

Right now, I'm just savoring the moment.... Coach Saban has Alabama on top and our 2 biggest rivals, UT and AU are awful; AU more than UT right not.

A Tennessee fan started this thread. Apparently he's a masochist because, like Alabama fans, he wants to keep the rivalry intact.

Haha well we do play UF every year, so whats the point of whining about it? Im glad we play tougher teams rather than playing weaker teams. We get more points and look good when we win, and when we lose its not even that bad because we still can make it to the SECCG if we take care of our own division. I get why people dont like it and I understand that, but Im the type of football guy that would rather have a tough schedule rather than a weak schedule.

I was too young to know about then, but what happened in the 90s is irrelevant to whats going on in 2012

LSU fans are jealous of the success Bama is having and for ruining their perfect season last year. They see Bama as a threat and that is why they are so defensive.

Everyone but an LSU will agree with that statement.
