Tennessee benefitted from what was a much weaker SEC during that period. The only legitimate coaches at that time were Fulmer, Spurrier, and Stallings.

The coaching in this league is waaaaay better now.

I don't understand why we would have such a problem with playing Florida every year.

It helps our strength of schedule.

And I do believe one year Urban Meyer cried about having to play LSU from the West every year.

Means absolutely nothing. (See Bama 2011)

Only the eye test matters.

Hopefully starting next year it is 9 games

We get to keep Florida, plus play other teams from easy more often, plus TSIO will be intact

win win win

Damn you're a fricking idiot.

As an LSU fan, I don't give 2 shits about the Bama beatdown that is handed down to Tennesee each year.

Not one frick is given...

You should start another USC is going to go undefeated thread, so we can all laugh at you again.

The real problem lies here: Why is the SEC doing a favor to 4 teams by keeping their rivalries intact, therefore forcing the other teams to have a permanent opponent?

Favoritism

The real problem here. It's obvious to everyone not affiliated with those 4 schools.

Well at least you put UGA/AU in the same boat with Bama/UT. All the whiney LSU fans on this thread seem to ignore UGA/AU in their anti Bama rants.

Bama was on probation for 5 yrs during 90s due to recruiting violations that allowed them to win '92 MNC. Same after '99 SEC title which resulted in limited schollies and Shula taking job no other coach wanted.

I think the SEC needs to do away with cowbells at MSU and allowing LSU to wear white at home and away.

Not sure why they hate the TSIO so much.

Busted.

I hate the TSIO with the fire of a 1000 suns.

So how much do you hate that the SEC moved TSIO to the 4th Saturday in October in 2013?

well of the other 10, one bitches about it a lot more than the others would you agree with that?

This conference is built on tradition. The winningest 2 programs in the conferenec are going to play each other every year, because they always have. It would be nice if the rest of you would deal with it, because crying about it isn't getting you anywhere

post terrible threads, whining about some Alabama/SEC Office/Holding Call conspiracy that keeps you from winning every game from here to eternity.

If we have to have a permanent cross division game I'm glad it is Florida. But the entire scheduling process and format is a complete joke.
