Because you have to do more than just be a spy… if I see Ross in the game, I’m checking to a run right at him. If he only comes in to spy, you can easily scheme around that.
And Kyle Parker barely gets snaps… don’t get that. Dude always makes a play and is a physical WR. Needs to play majority of the snaps
re: McShay: Nuss has best mental game at QB since Andrew Luck

I don’t know about the best mental game since Andrew Luck…
But arguably his best asset is his anticipation. He gets the ball out extremely fast and throws to his spot before the receiver even breaks his route and turns around. Extremely high football IQ to do that and be as efficient and accurate as he is. His pre-snap reads are excellent and he gets through his progressions extremely quick. And the trust in his receiver to be there. Everyone on the same page. It’s awesome to watch.

Really loved how we used Ju’Juan Johnson last night. Had some crucial first down pick ups late in the game on those quick dump offs to him and ran very well. Got up field, ran behind his pads, broke a few tackles and constantly fell forward. Basically an extension of the running game.
I wasn’t sure how physical he was considering he was a high school QB and split time WR and RB. But I am not worried about that at all moving forward.
His role will grow and he will be a key player for our team.
Also loved all the wrinkles we have on offense with guys like Ju’Juan, Zavion, and BB. Props to the staff for finding creative ways to get these playmakers the ball in good situations. Also makes preparing for our offense much more difficult.

Agreed.
That was pure effort and attitude. Most guys would whine and complain in that situation. Bauer got up and chased that dude down, saving a potential TD. And the defense held them to a field goal. Huge play that went unnoticed due to the fumble.

A big reason for the success running QBs had against hs last year was due to the pathetic safety play. Go watch the Bama game, didn’t do anything special, they simply attacked our safeties on QB sweeps. And it worked every time.
Hopefully the overhaul at safety with Haulcy can give us a presence back there to shut it down.

re: Kaleb Jackson breakout season

Kaleb Jackson is 100% a physical freak and could be a big contributor for us.
Just needs to develop more patience and vision in the zone scheme we run. He is an old school I formation type of RB and I wish our offense would throw in a package or 2 for him.
It’s Durhams backfield regardless, but we are going to need Kaleb Jackson to contribute and could have a big impact. Could be a very good combo.

He has 0 confidence with his approach at the plate. Guessing every pitch, swinging at balls, whiffing on strikes.
It’s ugly.

It is really bad in Harris County.
Moved to the north west houston area 3.5 years ago from Louisiana. Even I noticed the bizarre amount of times this shite happened since being here. It’s disgusting. The fact judges can release violent criminals on bond and can’t be held accountable if something happens really bothers me. That’s how you end up with these 165 murders.
If a judge releases a violent criminal on bond and they kill someone, there needs to be some legal recourse against said judge. They need to have some skin in the game. That would hopefully prevent a lot of this from happening.
Can’t remember who sponsored it, but they did have some good ads leading up to the Nov elections regarding this. It was family members of the deceased speaking about it. Im not as in tuned with the local politics as I’d like to be right now, but from what I understood, Harris county did a solid job at getting some of these judges off the bench.
But these judges need to have some skin in the game when releasing violent criminals on bond. Not sure how, but there has to be some legal action on the judges. They are the ones responsible for putting those people back into the community. They need to be liable for their actions and decisions.

Are you saying there should be no teachers, home health aides, social workers, or other workers to care for children, the disabled, and the elderly?
Are these really the examples you used as to why we shouldn’t make massive cuts?
Our public education system is god awful. We’ve got kids graduating high school with a 3.0+ GPA and can’t even read what’s on the diploma. The decline of our public education starting with the creation of the Dept of Education. Hell, charter schools get some public funding but a lot of their $$$ comes from donations and grants from the private sector and scores show they are better then public schools.
Home health is horrible and lots of abuse goes on, if they even show up at all. My mom helps out a family friend who is disabled and the wife has Alzheimer’s. It’s a horrible situation. They go thru at least 10 aides a year. They don’t show up, steal from them with zero remorse or flat out will refuse to do their job. In the last 6-8 years, only 1 aide has been worth what they are getting paid. And she left to go to the private sector since it’s better run, surrounded by better co-workers and better pay.
And what have we been told to do the last few decades regarding the short comings of public services like these? They are underfunded and need more $$$. So they get more $$$ and absolutely nothing has changed and I’d argue they have gotten even worse. At some point, basic economics comes into to play. You want to keep your job? Provide value, show you are worth it. These services fail to do that and do not care about the quality of work done.
If these people are actually good at their job, they will have no problem getting hired. There is a HUGE need for good teachers, home health aides, etc. But most are absolutely horrible and do not give a shite at all and just leeching off the govt.
NASAs budget is $23billion a year.
Considering their ability (or lack there of) to Elon, we are getting him at a steal.

Such a joke…
People at the highest level of govt were “tricked” due to bad data.
All you had to do was make a normal grocery run to figure it out. Very few employees, prices absurdly high and quality way down.
But we were told the economy was thriving under Biden the entire time and we were wrong. 4 years of that shite isn’t a “trick”, it was another intentional feature.

That post is incredible… you think we shouldn’t go after the cartel in Mexico because they already have a presence in our country. And if we do, they will use the cartel version of Tier 1 assets fully kitted with nods, Kevlar, optics, etc. and start shooting stingers, AT-4s, ICBMs, and whatever else they got off the black market at us.

Don’t think I’d call this being red pilled. I appreciate he admitted to being wrong. But hindsight is always 20/20. If the Trump and co didn’t win the election, would he be saying he was wrong or would it just be business as usual?
And look at what he did… “big brother is watching you” on social media because he allowed it. Resulting in unbelievable censorship, banning / shadow banning every day people who didn’t say anything wrong, it was just a different opinion than the establishment wanted. Hell, they banned / censored legit doctors / infection disease specialists over the COVID bullshite. And then donating $400m to Biden in 2020…
You could argue Zuck was the reason Biden “won” the election with his donating, censoring and removing people with different opinions from the platform, and the mass COVID hysteria. Add in the obvious mass cheating with mail in ballots in the 2020 election, then censoring anyone who said otherwise and that’s how you get a Biden admin.
Appreciate he admitted he was wrong, but that’s it. Allowing mass censorship and controlling all social media narratives over the American people isn’t just a simple mistake. It is 100% anti American.

re: I do feel sorry for the people of California, but.....

You’re a stupid count, this exact same rationale would then apply to the Louisiana leadership and their failure to secure the new years event from vehicles driving down streets full of people.
Yes it would. And yes it does. I say that as someone born and raised in Louisiana and lived there most my life.
Do I blame the Cali / Louisiana govt for these catastrophic events happening? Not at all. Can’t prevent forest fires in California or a terrorist with a car on New Year’s Eve from causing carnage. And in the New Orleans attack, I applaud the first responders / police on bourbon st. Those cops heard it and immediately ran to the danger. Pretty awesome.
But, the lack of preventative measures and response (Cali) to reduce the amount of damage from said catastrophes? Local and state leaders of both states absolutely are responsible.
Would the concrete barriers on Bourbon St have prevented the attack from happening? Maybe. Could have deterred the terrorists from doing it at all. Worst case scenario, it forces him to get out the car and just start firing on foot if he decided to still do it. Which would have resulted in less death. That’s on the govt leaders.
California is always at the top of the list for wildfires. Everyone knows this. It’s a tinderbox and always has been. It is absolutely insane that they don’t use basic preventative measures like brush and undergrowth clearing or controlled burns. Especially around populated areas. It’s also insane that they have budget cuts for fire departments knowing wildfires are their biggest risk in terms of natural disaster and have unqualified people making those decisions. And to make it even worse… SOME AREAS FIRE HYDRANTS ARE DRY AND ITS AN OCEANFRONT CITY. Fresh water has always been an issue in Cali due to the climate. But if you KNOW wildfires are your biggest risk for natural disaster, have an emergency plan in place to pull water from any source to help combat them.
These simple measures wouldn’t prevent forest fires. They 100% would still happen. But the biggest issue with these forest fires is 0 containment. All the above + having and executing emergency plans would help massively with containment, resulting in less catastrophic loss. And that is 100% on the clowns in leadership over there.
Imagine if the govt stopped maintaining levees / pumps in NOLA and south LA on the river ? We know what the result would eventually be. That’s what Cali officials / policy have done. 0 preventative measures and no emergency plan in place when shite hits the fan. And that’s on them.

Would love for Mason Taylor to return. But don’t think it happens. The kid is NFL ready and is already a top 3 TE this draft.
Tight ends aren’t drafted that early anyways unless you are a Brock Bowers type of player. So not sure how much his stock will improve with another year.

re: Safety play from here on
Posted by KG5989 on 11/14/24 at 7:43 pm to ForTheWin81
Safety is by far the biggest weakness we have on this team and is the biggest reason we got shredded vs Bama.
Bama did exactly what it would do if I was going against lsu d. Force the safeties to play disciplined with good angles and open field tackling. And they failed massively. Bama didn’t do anything wild from a schematic standpoint. It was more like a high school game plan. RPOs, QB runs, and lots of quick screens / bubbles. Which takes our DL, pass rush and Weeks out of the game.
They didn’t attack our CBs at all. Strictly forced our safeties to play smart and disciplined and tackle in the open field. And they had no chance.
It’s the worst trio of safeties I have ever seen at lsu. Give someone a shot, doesn’t matter who they are. Just see what someone else can do.

His emergence has actually allowed us to move him into the slot next to stamps and zy on pasisng downs to cover the shifty slot wr which has allowed major burns to not only have to cover those type of guys consistently but lets burns do what he does best which is blitz.
Can’t emphasize this enough. A lot of people think it’s easy to play people where they are best at. But when your roster is depleted of versatile DBs, sometimes you gotta go with what you got. Which is why we’ve seen Sage Ryan at boundary corner and Burns in the slot and it’s been a nightmare. The emergence of the young DBs and getting Zy back has allowed us to shift out other players to their natural positions where they are most effective. Just look at the last few weeks and how they have played as a unit.

Completely agree. Tall, rangy, and a freakishly fluid athlete. Kid can be a real impact player for us and a matchup nightmare.
Only issue is Green and 88 are not blockers at all. But I have no problem using Green in the slot instead of a WR on those seam and post patterns.
