Saban and Smart didn't have crazy transfer classes like Kiffin this season. Saban and Smart had to buy the top high school players when they got their jobs. Lane has a ready made Champion with this portal of LSU. Ranking them # 11 is way too low.

Neither did Urban Meyer. And he was the last HC at Florida to buy some pop for the buck.

The Lane Train has 12 games to prove the voters wrong. So, prove it. You can't get more American than that.

How in the heck is LSU only # 11 with that portal class after what Lane did at Ole Miss with lesser portal hauls.

How is Penn State # 18 - are they expecting those Iowa State transfers to light up those Big 10 teams?

New HC
New OC
New QB
New WRs
New LT
New RB (1 of them that will play a lot)

That will take a lot of time to gel and we've got a hard schedule. I think 10-15 is likely where we end up end of the year.

Also thin, in terms of experience, at CB and LB. Just straight up thin at DE. Probably starting two true freshmen on the DL.

Probably a fair ranking. Lane is building a great roster and installing his system, but I think we have some foot faults this year.

You still come in and completely change the culture and in this case, the offensive system and personnel.

That doesn't come without some speed bumps. People need to be realistic.

I don't see that as able to keep LSU under 10-2 and a playoff spot and by the playoffs they should have things running smoothly.

v. Clemson (Game 1 with new regime makes this much more challenging)
@ #9 Ole Miss (which will be an unusually hostile atmosphere)
v. #8 A&M
v. #13 Alabama
v. #5 Texas
@ #20 Tennessee (which also will be hostile as shite)

Going 4-2 in those in Year 1 with all new cast of characters will be a huge success.

Then you have @Auburn which I have no idea what to expect. They can beat any one, any year at home.

They return over 60% of their production. On paper, IMO, they are a top 10 team. However, their schedule is brutal and they could easily go 9-3.

This is fair. I think the LSU poster is mislead by his own thoughts. You are right about the schedule though. We benefitted by winning almost all of the nail-biters last season.

Screw Notre Dame.

Force them to join a football conference to be eligible for the playoffs.

The world will turn into ESPN for the bloodbath, but the SEC did as much for the Texas Techs, Arizona States, and the Indianas as NIL and the magic portal.

The new 12-team playoff committee doesn't care one bit about SOS, and after 2 years of watching this train wreck, Sankey thought Hey, let's double down on what's not working.

Saban and Kirby also couldn't go out and buy a new team as soon as they got on campus. Lane could and did. It's a different era and while fans can choose to be patient, the days of it taking 4 years to rebuild a roster are gone.

Returning two Heisman candidates to go along with the #2 portal class that was heavily focused on rebuilding the defense. Everything else outside of the O/U is speculation.

kirby's first year was also literally his first year ever as a head coach, just fwiw.

And he did make the playoffs in year 2.

Vegas always knows. They set Ole Miss O/U at 7.5 yet their fans think their floor is 8-4. It’s hilarious

Yeah. I believe Texas has 7 top 25 matchups, followed by AR, KY, and OU with 6.

The entire defense and OL if we are being honest.
