Clemson funneling money through the local mega church is no longer a viable strategy to win titles. They are back to where they historically have been.

How in the heck is LSU only # 11 with that portal class after what Lane did at Ole Miss with lesser portal hauls.

I have said in a different thread that Lame Kiffin doesn't get his new team to the playoffs in his first year. Nick Saban and Kirby Smart didn't make it to the playoffs in their first year at their new team.

The playoffs are a liitle bigger now...pretty sure it was 4 teams when Kirby started at UGA.
Also..they did not even have playoffs when Saban started at LSU or Bama.

Two of those years we finished within one spot of the preseason ranking, and it would be impossible to “surpass” a #1 ranking even if we had won it all that year.
Only 2024 were we not close to the preseason ranking.
Don’t worry though, Tennessee will be relevant enough again someday to not quite meet some top 10 preseason rankings.
