You realize this is because Aranda adjusted and started bringing a safety down and putting White and Divinity on the line?

My guess is that won't be an option against Alabama

They got almost a 1/3 of their INT's for the year vs Fitzgerald.

2 Vs Stidham
2 vs Fromm
1 vs Ta'amu

But, yes Fitz was generous.

How would you rate LSU's LBs in coverage? Alabama passes to the TE a lot. And Jacobs may be one of the best pass catching RBs in the SEC.

Phillips and Divinity are solid in coverage, they have the speed to keep up with Irv to a point. Those would be the ones to drop back the most.

I think odds are Bama will be able to move the ball to the red zone a decent amount. What LSU does there on defense will be huge. Because even if Bama is stopped it sure as hell isnt a guarantee a field goal will be made.

Phillips is very athletic. He had a 45yd pick six vs Miami. Not having him vs Florida hurt a lot. Depending on Bama's formation, we may have Delpit cover the TE and he leads CFB in INTs with 5. Safety Battle has been a liability in coverage, but he's still managed 3 INTs.

Jacobs is a handful! He's probably the best overall RB Alabama has and will be a high NFL draft choice.

What defense can LSU run that you don't think bama will eat alive?
not much really. We don't really have many weaknesses. With tua we can attack all parts of the field at any time, we use our rbs and tes effectively in the passing game, we have 4 first class receiver who are all extremely fast, run great routes, have good hands, and get yac, we have 4 really good rbs that you have to respect in the ground game, a we have a great pass blocking line, and if you manage to cover everybody up, tua will just scamper for a first down. It's a complete offense

Jacobs is the guy who makes me nervous. Najee and Damien Harris are both great backs, but Jacobs is the type of back that has given LSU problems this year

I think LSU has a talent advantage man to man but that is negated by superior Bama QB play and lack of LSU pass rush. Bama will likely beat any team over the top 4/5 times a game.

Bama 45
LSU 7
Everybody understands the game is a formality.
Particularly with Alabama being the best team of all time and Tiger Stadium not being an advantage.

Not only will LSU need to have an effective pass rush, but they also will need to contain. I have nightmares of Tua escaping the pocket and making big plays with his feet and his arm.

I hope his knee is ok. They've been pretty evasive about what the actual injury is. I have nightmares of him running and blowing his knee out. He wouldn't be playing if the injury were a risk, but please God don't let him re-injure it.

In my opinion, LSU's chances of winning come down to its Offense.

I believe the defense will hold Bama at bay well enough to keep LSU in the game. Like another poster said, that puts Bama somewhere around 24-27 points.

Can the LSU offense put enough points on the board to hang around? Can they capitalize on the turnover or 2 they get, and turn it into points?

Can the LSU offense finish drives? We've been good at getting 3. We will have to get 7 in this game.

Can the LSU offense eat up some clock and limit Bama's time of possession?

The last few years, Alabama hasn't had to open up their offense and take risks because their D simply shut us down.

I don't see them totally shutting us down this year. Burrow is much better than what we've had recently.

Both of these teams have jumped out to early leads in all of their games.

Bama has been much more explosive than LSU's, but both have started off well in every game. Bama is averaging 20 points per in the 1st quarter. Bama has scored on it's opening possession in every game so far. Can LSU affect that?

In this game, which team scores first? More importantly ... as far as the 1st quarter goes ---

Can LSU get to the end of the 1st quarter with the score being 7-3 or 7-7 or 10-7?

Which team starts off fast?

This is my worry for him.

He needs to be careful because you have a defense that may have someone willing to go high to send a message... And the rest may want to go low to avoid a penalty.

He can win without heroics. Hopefully he's smart enough to do it.

As for burrow. He's got the dumb white boy advantage. He might go low on a linebacker just for the opportunity And that's almost worth him not having Tua's accuracy.

Tua has one of the quickest release and accuracy of a football I’ve seen from a qb in a long time...with LSU not showing much of a pass rush it’s going to put a lot of pressure on LSU DB’s... the only way I think LSU can fairly match up with bama’s Receivers is to play man to man bumping them at the line of scrimmage... but they will still have their hands full.... good luck good game....

The only weekness I've seen on Alabama's team is the left guard position and kicker. If there is an Achilles heel on this Bama team its Offensive guard. Look complete otherwise....beatable but complete.

Idk if we sack tua but we’ll get pressure and push him into some throws he maybe wouldn’t have made in a clean pocket.
