Is anything really possible or do you have to have dominant pitching to win?

What are Bamas odds?

Y'all tattoo the ball. Just don't have an off day hitting. Also, avoid playing Troy, they seem to have a giant, throbbing hard on to beat y'all..

And they tattoo the ball too.

There is a thread on the front page with super regional and CWS odds. Just look for the thread title with CWS odds in the title.

It’s all about pitching. Hitting can be defeated good pitching is what success looks like in Omaha

LSU has relied on pitching once we get to Omaha, at least recently.

Gorilla ball is awesome but realistically you need an ace like LSU has had in Skenes, Eyanson, and Anderson. Or some heroic efforts (which we’ve also been fortunate to get).

At the point you have reached the CWS thru a legit bracket, it's just a matter of who is the hottest team at the time..... Everyone runs out of pitching.....

Agree, but I'd add in defense. If your team has a couple of much better than good pitchers, a door slamming closer, and a great fielding team, you be the strong favorite. Hitting is good and all that, but a hot pitcher with fielding support can shut the hitting down cold. Aggy had this exact problem this year, and it was exaggerated once they faced playoff caliber teams. They get their pitching fixed, they'll be in the mix deeper.

I'd add that the number of pitchers needed for a team at the CWS has decreased since ESPN took over in the 80s. Games are more spread out now for complete TV coverage Tham pre ESPN.

Alabama has decent odds. Until the bad news bears defense appears again. That’s going to bite our arse.

1) Make the postseason
2) Win Regionals
3) Win Super Regionals

If you make this far, you’ve got a chance.. sounds straight forward and almost stupid, but it’s true.

Some teams barrel their way to Omaha, some get lucky.. bottom line, there are 4 good teams in each bracket.

4) Win your bracket

You are most likely gonna need a lot of luck and good fortune to pull this off. Good pitching beats good hitting and sometimes a pitcher that’s been bad has a great game.. or a good pitcher lays an egg..

The baseball god’s are very real. You have been warned. Did I mention that almost every team gets incredibly lucky in some way shape or form?

Winning your side of the bracket is the hardest part of a NC imo. Don’t worry about the last step, do whatever it takes to advance. You can worry about tomorrow.. tomorrow.

5) Win the NC.

At the end of the day, this is just a weekend series against a good team.. something that happens almost every weekend in the SEC. Yes, one team may have used a lot of pitching, or maybe both did..

Hope the ball bounces your way.. Someone completely unexpected usually steps up in a very big way.. Did I mention good luck makes a big difference.. truly a game of inches..

2021 Vandy had pitchers Lieter & Rocker the 2nd & 10th picks in the draft & all they got in Omaha was a participation trophy

Yes. Look at Ole Miss 2022.
Last team selected.
We got through Omaha with a freshman pitcher and a couple bullpen guys.
The team could absolutely crush the ball though.

You don't need dominant pitching; 2023 LSU had a bunch of guys who got lit up in SEC play.
In Omaha, those meatballs become fly ball outs.

The bigger key is for the hitters. Don't swing for the fences, go for line drives. Unless the wind is blowing out, you dont see a lot of home runs
