For first time participants it is really hard to win the National Championship. The moment is really big for those kids and sometimes they start pressing.
If you look at State’s 2021 run, first it was the third straight year (2020 was cancelled because of COVID) we were there, it was defense (0 errors in 7 games) and that might be record. Great pitching (w/the exception of one game) and then just clutch hitting at the opportune times.
But generally speaking, experience is a crucial factor. If you can sustain a couple of runs getting there back to back or in a three year period, your chances of success in Omaha go up exponentially.

At least one pitcher you don’t expect to have the game of his life.

Its baseball so it really just comes down to being hot.

Baseball is a streaky sport.

Anybody that makes it to Omaha has a chance to win it all.

All of that goes out the window if over half the field is WVU, Troy, Kansas, USC, Bama, Ole Miss.

It’s lining up to be a dream field for Texas.

It’ll be interesting.
