Let’s clear the air about 2 things first
1) I am by no means comparing Landon Clark to Trinidad Chambliss
2) I am not even saying that Leavitt doesn’t actually play

But, let’s look at the Irony and similarities of the situation:

Kinda wild similarities between Simmons/Chambliss & Leavitt/Clark - if this holds.

- Simmons was the guy (Leavitt is our guy)
- Simmons & Leavitt both start off the season INT heavy
- Both go down for game 3
- Chambliss starts first game against SEC opponent at the Vaught (yes, a home game)
- Clark’s first start would be at the Vaught (duh, a way-different-hostile-road-test)
- Chambliss/Clark both come from small schools (Ferris St/Elon)
- Both coached by Lane Kiffin (obviously)

Then for Kiffin to have this happen, against an Ole Miss led Chambliss… would be hilarious to pull off the W.

Just some situational irony…

No. The game is listed as a “flex” meaning they don’t have to decide until the Monday before, 6-day window. They will let LSU-OM play out first.

I tried coach. But had an expensive arse babysitter waiting for me to get back… and more importantly…3 young kids who don’t care what time Daddy went to bed, waiting for me at 6am the next morning, with that 5HR drive back to Texas looming. Alas, we’ll be back at it again for all SEC home games this year.

I was 14 years old, at my first ever baseball regional, a guy I’ve just met - who we were tailgating with (Popcorn, RIP) - says “come on, I told this guy to wait here for us”. Walk up, and it’s Skip, the current AD at the time. Waiting in the middle of Skip Bertman Ave to speak with me. Was as chill and interested as you can be, about me, my athletic abilities, desire to be an LSU student-athlete etc.

Was an impressionable moment for sure. RIP GOAT.

The original college OT was great / the only change should have been to start from the 40.

Make the offense earn some yards before a free 42yd FG attempt. From the 40, with no yards gained that’s 57yds, which is significantly different than 42. Add in a loss of 2 yards, a false start, or delay of game, and everything changes.

Or if we’re not going to do that, instead of the 1-play 2 point conversion, make it 1st & Goal from the 10, with no FG option.

Interesting now that you say that. No, it doesn’t show up on my end, or even under the “order history”. But I know the payments are processing, so it’s gone through for me at least.

He/LSU did have to beat the #1 overall seed OSU, who had the best regular season of all-time 49-4, in consecutive games to come out of the loser bracket.

In 2009, LSU won with decent pitching, but scoring most. Scored at least 7 in every game we won.

In both 2023 & 2025, it took LSU winning a game 1-0 along the way to win it all.

ETA - well technically 2023 was 2-0, but both runs came off Tommy’s Walk-off HR. Point still stands.
