No chance UGA goes 8-4 with their schedule, despite losing so much talent to the NFL.

It would be naive to think there will be no regression, but only a troll thinks there are 4 regular season losses among 3 or 4 ranked opponents.

Absolutely not. They're the closest thing to what Saban built in terms of a high floor every single year as has existed in a decade.

Is there a chance we don't repeat as champs? Absolutely, that is pretty damn hard to pull off, and doesn't happen very often. But 8 and 4? That's even less likely.

Probably so. A crazy, worst scenario with lots of injuries, missed FG's, terrible refs is what it would take.

terrible refs

Probably doesn't belong on the list of crazy scenarios. Week to week in the SEC, it's essentially guaranteed that the refs will suck and probably blow at least one major call a week.

Just pray it's not your week.

Not in the SEC East which has only one about 1/3 of their matchups against SEC West in last 12 years. West teams are challenged every week. LSU has won 9 of last 12 against Florida and 4 out of 5 against Georgia, which are by far the best 2 programs in the East. . Would be nice to be in the East.

Regress to what? They still haven’t won the SEC in the same season they won the NC in over 40 years.

I wouldn't get my hopes up Greenbean, but there's always a chance.

When did LSU regress to 8-4?

Georgia will regress, a bit. At least, we expect to. Our offense will be better and our defense will be a little worse particularly at the beginning of the season. We expect to cycle back up and be really good next season.

(For clarification, we should be really good this year....something along the lines of 11-1 or 12-0, but not on the level Alabama should be this year. Probably not even on the level of Ohio State,,,but maybe the 3rd or 4th best team)

Seems odd that you want to go back 12 games against Florida and only 5 against Georgia. I wonder why?

OH! We are 6-6 in the last 12 with LSU!And Georgia is 7-6 in the last 13 games, since we are picking random time frames.

(FWIW, Florida has won 20 of the last 35 games against LSU, too)

Yes. The west is better than the east right now and has been for more than a minute. We all get it. Congrats on riding Alabama's coattails?

Odd coming from a well-known Alabama troll. Should we take two National Championships away from Alabama?

Tell you what. We will give Alabama the next 10 SEC Championships and we will take the next 10 National Championships and see how both fan bases feel.

We had 3.5 seasons of Jordan Davis clogging the middle.

To me, 2022 is a big question mark because of that change. Schematically, we should have to play differently.

If there is a regression, that is why.

8-4 type season this fall

Who are we losing to?
South Carolina could trip us up because weird shite happens over in Columbia and sure State could pull off an upset, but there’s really nobody else that could pull it off and it not be considered a massive upset. Plus Kirby has had only one season where he lost more than two regular season games and that was his first season

The defensive depth has 1 more year in them. The O will likely be terrible this year. 3 regular season losses is entirely possible if they rely on Bennett to drive the O. A SEC title loss would put them at 4 losses.

This has upset written all over it, which is exactly why it won't happen.

The odds are pretty good that they do, but today's game is so different with the talent "hoarding" that they should be able to at least breeze through the East.

SEC national champions and their record the following season, since the original expansion
1993 Alabama - 9-3-1
1997 Florida - 10-2
1999 Tennessee - 9-3
2004 LSU - 9-3
2007 Florida - 9-4
2008 LSU - 8-5
2009 Florida - 13-1
2010 Alabama - 10-3
2011 Auburn - 8-5
2012 Alabama - 13-1
2013 Alabama - 11-2
2016 Alabama - 14-1
2018 Alabama - 14-1
2020 LSU - 5-5
2021 Alabama - 13-2

Kirby reloads

That’s what no one is getting, at this point UGA isn’t re-loading or re-building.. they are constantly loading and building better.

The defense lost great players, but they didn’t play all the time UGA rotates a ton. JD 17 tackles and 15 Assists for the entire season.. now granted his impact was felt in other areas . Allowing Dean company to headhunt.

Davis played 38% of the Def snaps, Carter who’s back played 40%

Dean who played 66% is gone, but Nolan who played 50% is back.

Of the players that played 30% or more of the snaps for the D last year.. UGA lost 9 players and returns 9 players.. impact players at all 3 levels.

Lol

40+ points back to back by Stetson against the Vols has ruined you.

It would be a momumental upset to lose to SC. They are sipmly not very good, and I don't buy the "weird shite hapens in columbia" thing either.

2020- we beat the shite out of them
2018- same as above
2016- neither team was good but we won close
2014- they won close despite us being the better team
2012- they were a top 5 team and won big
2010- we sucked and they won 9 games and they won
2008- we won close
2006- we sucked but won big
2004- we won close
2002- we won close

Going all the way back to the begining of the richt era there's only 1 game out of 10, 2014, where you can definitively say that we were clearly the better team and should have won but didn't.
