New RBs, no WRs, 1 proven TE that missed summer, rebuilt Oline, and a meh QB. And Monken has Kirby telling him not to be a liability.
Not exactly a recipe for projected full spectrum elite status.
And don’t let inflated stats last year fool you, 15 games and still finished 5th in passing and 7th in rushing per game.
UGA won last year because of defensive recruiting (depth) and playing teams with 1st and last year coaches. They won despite not having great production on O.

As long as Kirby doesn't go through a mid life crisis like O then UGA should be fine.

Just about every time I ask you to quantify your madness with numbers, you ignore and don't reply.
Go ahead.
What will UGAs rushing per game average be?
What will UGAs passing per game average be?
What will UGAs points per game average be?

How many times should we explain that UGA shut it down early and bled clock?
UGAs passing offense was 3rd in the SEC in passing yards for the first half of games at 169.1 yards. After halftime, that was 82.7 yards passing per game (last in conference).
UGAs rushing offense was 109.5 yards per game after halftime. The first half was 81.5 yards per game.
UGA scored 42 rushing and passing TDs in the first half last season.
Bama earned 41. Tennessee earned 37 (2 fewer games).
How does it feel for everything you know and to believe is true to be worthless and a waste of brain matter?

After seeing this, I thought I'd check out the "Talent Rankings" for the last 5 years. Here are the NCs by year and the corresponding talent ranking top 5:
2022 - Not released yet.
2021 - Georgia
1. Bama
2. Georgia
3. tOSU
4. Clempson
5. LSU
2020 - Bama
1. Georgia
2. Bama
3. tOSU
4. Clempson
5. Texas
2019 - LSU
1. Bama
2. tOSU
3. Georgia
4. USC
5. LSU
2018 - Clemson
1. tOSU
2. Bama
3. Georgia
4. USC
5. FSU
2017 - Bama
1. Bama
2. tOSU
3. USC
4. Georgia
5. FSU
So, over the last 5 seasons, the team with the top ranked talent (per 24/7) has only won the NC once (2017 Bama). The same number of times a team outside of the top 5 has won the NC (2018 Clemson).

The defensive depth has 1 more year in them. The O will likely be terrible this year. 3 regular season losses is entirely possible if they rely on Bennett to drive the O. A SEC title loss would put them at 4 losses.
Ban bet that we do not lose 3 games?
Perma ban bet that the offense will not be terrible. (For reference, you would need to spell out what would qualify as terrible)
True story.
Tennessee fans: We have a great offense! We averaged 38.8 points a game in our 12b game regular season!
UGA fans: We averaged 42.6 points in our 12 game regular season.
Tennessee fans: Yeah! But your offense sucked!
Hendon Hooker vs. UGA 24 of 37 244yds 1TD 1INT
Steson Bennett vs Tennessee: 17 of 29 213 yds 1TD 0INT
And you think Bennett will cost us games but Hooker will not coast you games.

quote:The only two national championship winners since 2000 to regress to 8-4 or worse were 2011 Auburn (8-5 after the bowl, lost a generational talent Heisman winner at QB from the previous season) and 2020 LSU (5-5 after a self imposed bowl ban, lost a generational talent Heisman winner at QB from the previous season).
To an 8-4 type season this fall ala LSU after their championship?
I expect some regression. I do not expect an undefeated regular season. I do not expect a repeat. But barring a lot of injuries, I just do not see UGA going 8-4 or worse a la 2020 LSU. There is too much depth and UGA is returning the guy at QB who was MVP of both of last season's CFP games, and the RB position is absolutely stacked.
I expect growing pains from the defense early in the season. UGA is replacing a lot of talent on that side of the ball and has a new DC.
But 8-4? I just don't see it.

Holy hell. Please do not go outside without a helmet on.

You clearly don’t follow recent history of recruiting or stats.
Not much of a football fan.

It’s like UGA fans have forgotten being “young”, “a position away”, “insert excuse here” for a decade. Always losing a game they didn’t expect to, finding a way to be the more talented team but not the best team. You know, the program they really are.

Ban bet that our O will be terrible ?
or Ban bet on 3 losses in regular season?
or Ban bet on 4 total losses?

Many other SEC quarterbacks have an advantage statistically over Hooker...they get to play against UT's defense. He doesn't.

But smokeyone thinks uga has no qb, wr, rb, and the worst OC ever, so that’s not quite the advantage.

We have some depth issues at safety, some questions at LB and OL. A few key injuries here or there and it’s possible.

It’s like you have forgotten that Uga has lived in the top 10 since 2017, which has proven you wrong, year after year.

I don't see depth issues on the OL.
You can ask some questions about who the starters will be and that is fair. But the fact that we have guys competing in spots with big game experience under their belts supports the idea that the 2 deep is in pretty good shape (Van Pran and Ericson at C. Rutledge, Truss, Ericson, Willock at G. Jones, McClendon, and Mims at T).
The biggest depth questions are DB (who is our 3rd corner? Is Tykee Smith our nickel defender or 2nd safety? Who grabs the spot where Tykee isnt?)
I don't really see questions at LB other than how often we have Nolan Smith at Sam and how often he is at Jack? The opponents will dictate that.

I said questions, not depth for OL.
As for as Safety, we have the Smiths we have Jackson. That’s it. Anyone gets hurt and it’s a rookie/inexperienced guy starting.
LB without Kobe directing everyone is a big question mark to me.
Lots of talent but those are my concerns this year.

What are the questions?
We are set at LT, RT, and center and return 2 guys with starts at OG.
