I think Sark is a fine hire. It was time for Tom to go, there's no denying that, and I truthfully believe that Sark was the best Texas could do. And it's not like they're scratching the bottom of the barrel for him either. It seems as if he's respected in the profession.

Yep. Historically the best program ever, pal. That's like saying Ohio State has nothing to with the success of Ryan Day, Jim Tressel, or Urban Meyer. That's ridiculous, and you know it.

When Texas and USC have crappy coaches, they don't win a lot of games. When Bama had crappy coaches before Saban, they didn't win a lot of games and they therefore didn't have the most talent.

Saban is the gamechanger here. He is the best college football coach at minimum the past 30 years. Saban could have gone to Oregon and won multiple title by now, a program that has never won a CFB title. Pairing him with a great program led to more titles, but without Saban at Alabama they probably don't win any

You folks seem to forget that when you have the athletes that Bama does year in and year out, coaching isn't nearly as important as you may think. I'm a coach and I fully admit that.

Texas doesn't have the athletes that Bama has. In fact, no one does. It's just a fact of life right now.

Again, for success you have to go through Norman Oklahoma. Nothing else matters. Talk to us when you have that mastered.

This must be a really good hire for Texas. The Aggies are triggered something fierce. Pretty much tells you all you need to know.

LSU, you have to start taking care of business. You lost your focus last year. Focus!!

I'm not a player or coach, so how well I focus seems largely irrelevant. Currently, I'm just focusing on how torn up this hire has Aggie.

A lot of sour grapes from the Aggies in here.
Of course there is. We've had our heads up our asses for a decade and they've done nothing with that opportunity. Aggy is the single biggest net loser in Texas getting its shite together.

That's a good hire and he was good for Bama recruiting the state of Texas. The fake field goal attempt against Clemson in the CG a couple of years ago was bush league; but, overall I though he was an excellent coach and I'm sure he'll do well at UT.

Are you honestly comparing Alabama's football program to Oregon's? You do realize Alabama had multiple championship before Saban arrived? The last was 1992 but it's not like Oregon. LOLOLOL!

Being in the big 12 the threat from Texas or Oklahoma is limited.

that's silly. Alabama won a national title with Gene Stalling, who never even had a winning record anywhere else

So what are some of the Aggie fans' thoughts on Sumlin taking over the TE/ST job for Bama? It has already been talked about that he "talked" with Saban in Miami. I know he was the TE/ST coach for Stoops at OU. What are y'all's thoughts on his ability to recruit?

We have no idea what Sumlin did while he was at A&M other than chew bubble gum on the sidelines and fire assistant coaches.

Anything that hurts our favorite team, Alabama, and helps our enemy, Texas, is going to cause us to melt.
