Okay, outraged internet user deathvalleytiger10, who is definitely not feigning outrage because of a sports rivalry.

So now it's a rivalry?

You are correct. I am not feigning.

If BM does not bring the weapon, we would be talking about other nonsense.

Instead, his decision allowed, and I say contributed, to this murder.

Does it bother me, damn right. Walk in my shoes and it would bother you as well.

Defend BM all you want. And I will call you a pussy for doing it. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. Period.

He knew there was conflict and brought a gun. That's more than enough to indict. Alabama DA just doesn't want to.

I'm not saying it isn't but can you point to the criminal statute or a similar case. Just curious how the state of Alabama sees this situation. I know 99% of the talk of this on here is from people who have never actually read the criminal code in their life so I'd like a legit source.

Pretty much agree entirely with your take.

No disagreement, but honestly, I doubt 18 yo me would have done so. College kids do dumb shite. Sadly this dumb shite resulted in a you g lady’s death.

Yesterday there was discussion about whether he was blindly led into it (as in, "hey man I left my gun in your car can you get it back to me") and we now know that wasn't the case. Nor is there any plausible argument for a self-defense motive that negates the recklessness - any reasonable person tells a friend to leave or call the cops. Bringing someone a gun so they can potentially engage in a voluntarily armed confrontation on the street - whether the friend felt threatened or not - isn't any better morally.

Now we know that the Jeep pulled up after he did, so he'd have no reason to believe there was anything going on with the Jeep at all, and according to his lawyer he didn't even know there was a gun left in his car.

The bottom line is why was Brandon Miller not suspended after knowing his teammate wanted his gun for some type of escalation.

If Bama had acted this way, the story would not be nearly as blown up as it is today. It’s pretty standard to suspend a guy that is being looked at for various reasons. They could have reinstated him by now and still probably be ok.

Some Bama fans are so obsessed with guilt in court. That’s not what this is about. This is about doing due diligence, taking precaution, and trying to get to the truth via witnesses.

In my view, the text message is key. He was sent a text that a friend was obviously in some sort of conflict at 1AM and said friend wanted his gun. To me there is no way to circumvent the conclusion that Miller was at minimum wildly irresponsible as a result.
That seems like material aid to a murder. . .at least.

That is where I stand.

If Miller was not the star of the Bama squad, he would likely be in jail right now.

I went to school with a guy that actually lended a friend, his shot gun.. the friend went out and murdered someone and my old classmate got 10 years in federal prison… now granted my friend wasn’t a good basketball player, but facts are facts. He is an accessory. That’s the bottom line. I guarantee you he knew exactly what he was doing and why.

The media is absolutely crucifying Miller on TV all freaking day. Even with the DA saying he isn’t getting charged and did no wrong. And btw they could give two shits about someone being murdered all they care about is getting views. It’s disgusting.

That’s the difference it wasn’t Millers firearm it was Miles. Why does everyone mess this up? He wasn’t arrested and wasn’t charged. That’s it.

It’s crazy that he’s going to keep playing. If I was Brandon Miller’s parent, I would want him out of the public eye while this is sorted out. Playing isn’t helping him in any way.

Wouldn't there be some surveillance or dashcam videos that shed light on this whole thing, like how exactly was Miller's car blocking anybody's exit?

There should also be a timeline. When did the text come in? How long does it take to get from Miller's place to the murder scene?

To me, it's criminal that the DA is saying "Move along here, nothing to see." Somebody lost their life. If it was Nate Oats' daughter, wouldn't he at least want a grand jury to investigate what happened?

This is Alabama sleaze at its sleaziness, from the top of the university to the sleazeball AD to the head coach.
Why was he even included in the meeting that determined whether Miller should be allowed to play? Of course, Oats is going to cover everything up.

Oats is trying to avoid becoming the next Dave Bliss.
But guess what, Oats? You're a lot closer to that today than you were before that girl was killed.

Agreed and that's at the heart of my reasoning. I just don't see how anyone escapes some punishment (meaning from the school) given that fact.

You're about 1/2 way there, Petti!

How could it be self defense if there is a time lapse? If you're in danger, leave.
