Bama has played 3 “decent, should-win” games

UGA has played 1 “decent, should-win” game.

Through 4 weeks, it’s about volume. It’ll all even out as the season plays out.

Side note: Bama and UGA are both very good teams that will likely be squarely in the playoff and title hunt. No reason for either fan base to be defensive about their relatively-weak schedules through 4 weeks.

Florida state was a dumpster fire for years. Wouldn’t exactly say they should always be ranked. They had one coach turn them around, after that haven’t really done much

Sounds like the shorthorns.

Sagarin, which is far from perfect and usually doesn't even get close to what it's trying to do until Week 6, still has Alabama's SOS at 20th.

I will give kudos for Sagarin posting this on his ratings:

Just play a team with a pulse

Schedules are made out years in advance. When we scheduled Oklahoma and Arkansas, they were likely highly ranked. It's not our fault that they have declined. We just play the team in front of us and beat them soundly.

Newsflash: it doesn't do you any good to play a Top 25 team if you lose.

How's that Ole Miss game looking on your schedule right now???

They will both lose soon enough. Bama gonna lose in Starkville, and Jawja gonna lose to the Gators.

Both should easily cruise into the playoffs. Each has 2, at most 3, challenging games left.

Both will play some going forward and it may be that when they meet one another it will be the best team either will face all season and through the CFP....and that galls the frick out of everyone but Alabama and Georgia....

This is the flaw with the system

Notre Dame gets ranked because they are Notre Dame.

Sheep will cluster because they think there is safety in numbers, it does not however mean they are safe by logic

Imagine you are a fund manager decades ago and you can invest in Microsoft or Google. 99.99% will invest in Microsoft because it is viewed as safe and they will not lose their job for picking them. Media drives ranking and it is easier to vote for Notre Dame than Mississippi State.

As example, in the 2008 meltdown exactly how many of the lemmings were shorting the market? Whole lot of average Americans got wiped out because the lemming were in charge of their money.

LSU should probably worry about winning their games before they start looking at who other teams are playing.

And the only top 25 team LSU has played against beat them.

Yikes, indeed.
