No, I edited the emoticon thing at the bottom. If you don't think their is a significant difference in those statistics, I don't know what to tell you.

All I know is that when Saban was coach LSU was flagged numerous times. Saban must have made a ton of changes to his coaching since then.

Thanks for the info, makes me sick. But I bet Bammer is so good, they don't make mistakes

38-10 looks pretty good to me...

I read the thread title, laughed, then immediately bought 4 cases of this to pass out to the SEC Rant:

Yep. He only had the head coaches at Florida State, Tennessee, and Florida on his staff, yet LSU committed (excuse me--was flagged for) many more penalties than his Alabama teams.

Dude you can put up all the black heliopters you want but if u really think that year in and year out no matter who the coach is Bama commits the least penalties in the entire SEC go ahead. Not to mention go ahead and ignore the Fact the SEC office is in Bama and the head of officials is a BAMA grad!

I bet Florida is so smart that they rip off Auburn's lukewarm insults.

Well, since Lsu, he's had 2 undefeated regular seasons. An undefeated 14 win season, been to the SEC Championship game 2 yrs in a row, and has less penalized teams. I'd say, he's improved and taken advantage of the greatness that is the Crimson Tide.

It's because Saban believes in disciplined play and precision execution.

well, it's interesting that he was never one of the least penalized teams in the country while at lsu.

however, bama, under shula, saban, fran, ect. have always been one of the least.

He would have easily matched that at LSU if the refs were in his pocket.

In 2003, under Nick Saban, LSU went 13-1 and won the SEC and the National Titles. LSU outscored their opponents 475-154. LSU had 102 penalties for 845 yards compared to their opposition's 98 penalties for 676 yards.

In 2006, Alabama went 6-7 under Mike Shula as head coach. Alabama had 78 penalties for 557 yards compared to their opponents 90 penalties for 732 yards.

Yep, Bama being the 2nd least penalized team in the nation is all about Nick Saban and how diciplined his teams are and it has nothing to do with Bama getting favorable officiating.

Oh look. LSU fans being bitchy little countbags about officiating. What a shock

It's obvious that Shula was a more disciplined coach than Saban.

Again, LSU beat that arse last year, and we are ranked #1... what do we have to be bitchy about? Y'all should know better than to start a thread bragging about how lopsided the officiating is when y'all play (see thread title).

You're right. It's not about discipline by Saban. Bama folks are just classier and don't resort to cheating and getting penalized like Louisiana folk.
