They're better than us? What does that have to do with the fact that bama never gets called for holding?

This is football, if a ref wanted to he could call holding on every...EVERY...play.

Ah, yes...the classic line often parroted by people who know very little about the NCAA rulebook and probably couldn't expain the rulebook definition if their lives depended on it.

I've seen at least 98 LSU fans say it in this thread.

Below are the rankings for "Least Penalized Team". The numbers speak for themselves. I don't blame Bama fans, but just stop pretending that SEC refs don't favor Saban's Bama teams.

Year Team Conference National
2000 LSU-----8-----67
2001 LSU-----4-----34
2002 LSU-----6-----66
2003 LSU-----9-----82
2004 LSU-----5-----40
5yr average rnk--6.4---57.8

2007 ALABAMA-----1-----5
2008 ALABAMA-----1-----5
2009 ALABAMA-----3-----17
2010 ALABAMA-----1-----24
2011 ALABAMA-----1-----2
5yr average rnk-----1.4-----10.6

Now STFU!

WTF are you looking at, Clockwatcher? In 2004 LSU was 23rd in the country with 45.58 yards per game, 3rd in the SEC behind Vandy and Arkansas.

I only checked 2004. Did you just pull all the other years' numbers out of your arse like you did for 2004?

I think they got flustered with the stats I threw at them earlier this week. Retaliation by confusion, baby.

23rd in the country out of 120

Yeah, that's among the MOST penalized. Louisiana math, I guess.

I was going to let this thread die... but you had to ask a stupid question... I looked at EXACTLY what I SAID I looked at... FEWEST PENALTIES. 2004 Fewest Penalties Your numbers are coming from FEWEST YARDS PENALIZED. Because we know that a 5 yard penalty that negates a touchdown is more costly than a 15 yard personal foul. I didn't have time to mess with the YARDS rankings... looks like you were looking at them... why didn't you post them?

So...while we're talking about stupidity...and to use your own logic...a 15 yard penalty that nullifies a touchdown is even worse, as is a pass interference penalty on 3rd down...than a false start on 3rd and 20 on your own 20 yardline.

See...once agan, you can pull numbers out of your arse, or off a stat sheet, and make them say whatever it is you want them to say. Most intelligent fans can see through that.

One thing you have shown, however, is this: Since LSU may have had a higher number number of penalties but a lower amount of yardage, that shows that Saban's team certainly had fewer major distance penalties, like holding, than most other teams...a phenomenon that some fools in this thread think magically began when he got to Alabama.

As far as only posting one year of the yardage, I posted the first year I came to. That's all I needed to prove to me that I was debating with an idiot.

I'm not debating with you moron. It doesn't even matter what penalties you or I think hurt more, or that LSU was not "among the most penalized". Explain the difference in rankings, because those are not my fricking opinion. Those are in the NCAA record book. You can't say it's because you have a better coach. Explain why Saban's Alabama teams average nearly 50 spots better in "least penalties" than his LSU teams did?

In your opinion. No matter what you or anyone else wants to think, Alabama is and always will be THE team in the SEC. Without Alabama the SEC is nothing

I don't understand why Alabama fans don't just accept that they get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to refs. I can name 4 calls just in the 09 game. Go ahead and say Webster pushed a bama receiver down. That's all u can think of. Bama teams have never been screwed by the refs.
