I mean, I don't think anyone could argue Knoxville isn't miles ahead of of College Station or BR. No contest.

Schloss was in the bag for us, then our season got extended and went to Omaha, then TCU had time to restructure his contract and we ended up with a big fat greek shifter. Great coach in Schloss, but V is and should be 100% the target.

Figured I could bump and not start a new thread until tomorrow.

Here is the latested:

quote:

It's not officially announced yet and probably won't be until tomorrow after the games today are over, but Jim Schlossnagle will be the next head baseball coach of Texas A&M. Kirk Sarloos will be promoted to replace Schlossngale. What happens with Mosiello is still up in the air, but he will most likely be following Schloss to College Station.

I have to say, I did not expect to be able to pull a coach of this caliber. It just usually doesn't happen in baseball.

Here's the resume for those not familiar with him.

2 Years at UNLV, 18 years at TCU.

12 Mountain West Conference Titles (7 regular season, 5 tourney)
6 Big 12 Titles (3 regular season, 3 tourney)

16 Regionals (4 national seeds, 1 Covid year, 3 Missed Regionals)
7 Super Regionals
5 College World Series (Made Semi-Finals 4x)

2x National Coach of the Year
8x Mountain West Coach of the Year
1x Big 12 Coach of the Year

Should be a good coach for y’all if that’s true. Kind of glad he won’t be in LSU’s pool of coaches because I don’t think many of us wanted him

Please let it be Vitello. So I can laugh at Serraneaux.

I just see him staying but I could see him going to LSU before going to A&M.

I don't see Vitello going anywhere. If Tamu gets him, it'll cost a shite load of $

And what bay is this that you speak of?

Why wouldn’t TAMU go after someone like Dan Heefner? Probably cost a lot less.

Some of y’all need to read my last post. Vitello wasn’t offered because Schloss already said yes.

Heefner is a dude. Whoever takes a chance on him, is gunna get a winner.

Could Texas A&M baseball be the program that finally poaches TCU’s Jim Schlossnagle? - Fort Worth Star-Telegram

As of 04:47pm today:
quote:

Schlossnagle could not be reached for comment on Monday and had not been formally offered the job by A&M as of Monday afternoon. But he has been considered one of the top targets for A&M since it parted ways with longtime coach Rob Childress.

TCU is hopeful that Schlossnagle returns for an 18th season in 2022, but this decision goes beyond simply matching a high-dollar salary offer.

Schlossnagle said during the season that he didn’t have interest in any other job, but A&M’s pursuit is too hard to ignore at this point. For Schlossnagle, it would be an opportunity to coach in the SEC and at a school with a bigger alumni base and platform than TCU can provide.

I think that the Aggies should give either one 75 million.

LSU was looking higher than A&M. They will at the very least have approached O'Sullivan, McDonnell, and Corbin before their search is done. A&M was focused mainly on Texas, with Tadlock and Schlossnagle at the front of the search

LSU is a premiere baseball job. A&M has the potential to be one, but just isn't quite yet
