If you still have three in the running at this point, it generally means no one has been too impressive.

From what I am hearing is that King is looking the best right now. Max will back him up. Wiegman will probably redshirt.

or you don't want your 5* QB to transfer because he wasn't given a fair shot at winning the job.

Which makes you wonder why Max would've transferred to A&M if he was just going to be a backup. He probably could've started at a lower tier school that needed an experienced play caller.

Wonder if he has regressed.

Quality of education is much more important once a player accepts the fact that they aren't going to make it in the Pros.

Probably b/c his brother is at A&M too and even if he loses the starting job there is always the chance King gets hurt again.

Oh yea forgot his brother went to you guys as well. Aside of all the back and forth bickering from our fanbases, Max appears to be a good dude, just not an excellent QB.

You guys leaning toward King starting?

That explains all the recent decommits.

But seriously, Max is a bitch, but if he gets more time to develop he could be pretty good.

Didnt get to see enough of King.

I would assume so since he should know the offense better and has a far higher upside.

Max is a good guy, tough as nails, and a great leader.

He never quit on LSU and will be A&M's starter this year. I wish him all the best except against LSU.

His brother was committed to A&M and he just wanted to get the hell out of LoSerU. I think Max realizes he is probably not NFL caliber QB but figures his best chance is with Jimbo.

Our last backup QB played all but one game last season.

Sounds like right now King is QB1 and Max hasn't picked up the offense as well yet.

I can see that as it is a difficult offense but I'd bet Max starts the majority of A&M's games this season.

He's just a better fit for Jimbo's offense.

If you read the tea leaves the starter this year is going to be King. Supposedly the competition was close last year, but it really wasn't. Fisher talks glowingly about King, makes excuses for him when he does something stupid, and he was the runaway winner last year but didn't want Calzada to transfer (at the time). It's the same situation this year. King will start unless somebody takes it away from him

Weigman is the future, but Fisher has never played a true fish. The only QB's getting first team reps are the upperclassmen.

So why not announce King as the starter and let him get all the first team reps through fall camp?

First, Farmer never ceases to disappoint me.

Second, Max will flourish under the great QB whisperer.

Third, uh nothing more to say...

Because Fisher needs the QB's ready to step in. King went down in the second week last year, and it torpedoed the season and the offense.

He doesn't need to be getting first team reps to be ready to step in. He just needs to learn the offense.

Max has more than proven that he can step up in times of injury to the starter.
