Kelly is 5 years older than Jimbo, and in the last 5 years, Kelly's ND has been to the CFP twice and is poised to do it again this year. Meanwhile over that span, Jimbo has struggled to win more than 8 games at A&M and left FSU in a damn tailspin.
Jimbo has hardware because he had a generational QB like Ed and Gene. The more time he stays at A&M, the more obvious it will become...
Jimbo may not be old, but he's certainly past his prime. His expression when LSU punked you this weekend in the waning seconds of the game said it all.

I would bet the great majority agree that Kelly is perfect for LSU and perfect fit for the opposing team. Yes, great hire!! Wonder why he wasn't even a top 3 pick by Scott Woodward? That is something you will have to ask your own AD.

Some of You A&M fans are so fricking stupid. It’s actually more likely, and there is evidence Woodward has had Kelly for a long time and Riley was either never a serious candidate or there was similar conversations that Woodward probably had with many coaches as part of the process. What I do know is you don’t know shite.

Talent has never been Jimbo’s issue. He recruited lights out at FSU. Still had 10 losses to unranked teams over his 6 non-Jameis seasons there, and he has your W/L record moving in the wrong direction.
Some coaches get more out of their players, then there’s Jimbo.

Same could be said about Jimbo, this team is 100% his team and lost 4 SEC games and got a big extension.
Kelly will load up on the big guys and what LSU needs. The skill positions except QB have always been available to LSU.
We shall see and almost with you with this hire but hiring Jimbo has not improved the Aggies. Right now Jimbo has averaged losing 3.5 games per season.
You guys got rid of a coach that averaged losing 4.3 games per season.
LSU just fired a coach that averaged losing 3.3 games per season that won a SEC Championship and national title.
Finished 6th one season.
