It's pretty much the same hire

Arguably they're the two least dynamic/most boring high level coaches from big programs, hired for huge money, and neither are particularly feared by the programs most familiar with those coaches.

Yeah, LSU hired their own Jimbo, minus the Natty on the resume

Btw—did you explain to your new recruit how that 8-4 thing works?

Maybe when you stop making threads about how you think A&M fans are in shambles about you hiring a coach like Kelly. We aren't, honestly Aranda would have moved the needle more for me. Enjoy your moment though?

I always love it when the guy driving the 1982 Relaint calls the guy in the Porsche a loser. Y’all enjoy your night and make sure to pump Brian Kelly up more than anyone has ever been pumped up.

If you told me Jimbo just got a generational talent once, played in an extremely weak ACC, got matched up with a vastly overachieving miracle Auburn team in the BCSNC, and his championship is a complete fluke, it'd be hard to argue

All of this. A&M hiring Jimbo would be like someone else going out and hiring Orgeron tomorrow

Must've been impressed that Jalen Preston had a breakout game only 4 years into his college career.

Why would that be? Shortly after Kelly became public we landed the best receiver in the class. Recruiting much easier with the changes in BR

Thanks, Tiggers!!!

LSU hires a new coach and your first thought it was A&M fans are thinking. Damn, we live in your heads. Obsessing about what we think 24/7.

Actually who LSU hired and success will be directly tied to getting players on campus.
It's all about the "Jimmy's and Joe's" as Bear Bryant said and holds true today

With NIL, transfer portal getting players on campus and retention is the most important thing.

What I see in the Kelly hire is potential for LSU to get better in the box with OL, DL and LB's

Jimbo had a great season in 2020 and look at the OL
If the Aggies had the same OL in 2021 they would be undefeated or at most 11-1

LSU hires a mean, arrogant midwest guy who killed a kid in practice....who has no experience recruiting in the south.

We are laughing.

Bwahahahahah.

I think we will be ok.

Don’t worry, your all-star players will still be coached by the same people to lose 3-4 games per year

I think we can all agree a generational QB can make mediocre coaches looks stellar.

For my money, I'll take the guy who racks up double digit win seasons consistently over the guy who's struggling to get to 9 wins each year and who just got punked on national tv by a terminated coach and his practice squad.

I would have been much more concerned about Lane Kiffin or Mike Leach in Baton Rouge.

Well yeah, but I think it's funnier that they stay at the MS schools and beat aggy like a drum.

And you guys stuck with Dumbo fisher . Avging 4 losses a year. Aggies always gonna aggie

Yeah hang your hat on one recruiting class. LSU will be up to speed soon enough and then it comes down to coaching. Lets see brian kelly or dumbo fisher lol . You forget LSU won two NC's with Miles and O i think kelly will be the next.

2013 is getting pretty far in the rear view mirror. Meanwhile he hasn’t had a 10 win season in years and his record with the Aggies has a lot to be desired.

Shambles over what? Your hire? Not hardly. Mad we lost to to the shrimp boat captain on his way out? Yes. But not in shambles.

Y’all make fun that jimbo was too old and past his prime and looking for a retirement paycheck. That’s not the case, but let’s humor y’all and say it is, who’s to say Kelly isn’t doing the exact same thing? Very similar circumstances in both were very established coaches at big name schools. Kelly is older than Jimbo. Only difference is Jimbo actually has some hardware, Kelly played in one Natty and got destroyed by Alabama in 2012.

So what’s there to worry about?

I've never heard anyone say this, just that Jimbo's offense was outdated and the game had passed him by.

That's all mentality, nothing to do with age.

On their board they are talking about Jimbo needs to go and he can't coach.

Yet here they are every LSU thread like clockwork.
