Georgia has always recruited 4* and 5* star players. That hasn’t been their problem. Kirby isn’t doing anything Richt didn’t do. Do you remember the quote from Spurrier about what happens to those 5* players when they get to Athens? Kirby is benefiting from a putrid SEC East right now.

12-0 Bama makes the SEC championship game irrelevant. 12-0 Alabama is IN the playoff. Period. A loss in that game would drop us to 4 at the lowest. No way we drop from #1 to #5. None.

What if you lose to Auburn?

Although this is true, it doesn't explain the entire picture because UGA is getting a higher quality and quantity of 4/5 stars than in years past.. I would argue that recruiting more than wins, culture or anything, has been the most impactful, transferable quality Kirby brought with him from Bama to UGA.

I think it will be Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Ohio State this year.. The 4 winners of those matchups in the OP.

Read the thread.. i actually wasn't trolling UGA this time. It was my honest take on the playoffs.

We wouldn’t be 12-0 and I covered this in my first post by saying if we can get by Auburn. 12-0 #1 ranked Bama is a lock for the CFP regardless of what happens in the SEC Championship game. 12-0 #2 ranked Bama is not a lock regardless of what happens in the SEC championship game. Doubtful the committee moves us to #2 if we beat Auburn though.

It's clear that.. USC won't make it in and UGA is a year away and will lose to whoever wins the Iron Bowl, in the SEC Championship.

You think Auburn would blow out UGA in the SEC title game?

If they show UGA a replay of the Auburn game they would probably agree with you

8 team talk is ridiculous. The playoff should be a 6 Team playoff. Power 5 winners with 1 at large voted on by the committee

You said blow out.. i said we would win. If you can convince me UGA would suddenly, miraculously be able to block Auburn's Defensive front, then i will concede it could go either way..

It'll be the same outcome either way. Auburn exposed UGA

UGA beats Auburn out East.

However, I still think it'll be Bama/Georgia.

Kirby has stepped the classes up from 8-12 range to top 5. Will it make a difference in the long run? That is to be seen.

We should just go to #64. Going by the Sagarin ratings, that would pit #1 Alabama vs. #68 Syracuse (4-7). Who wouldn't want to watch that!?!?!!

Note: 3 FCS schools are in the top 64, so that moves us to the #67 ranked team, who happens to be Ole Miss. Since Ole Miss is not eligible for post-season play, we substitute Syracuse (unless Army can leap frog them in the final week!).

I think it's funny that this gets upvotes from UGA fans but those same UGA fans won't dare post anything about it, after what happen to them at Auburn.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is little difference between the #1 recruiting class and the #10 class. That is even taking into account that you believe a bunch of computer nerds who never played sports a day in their life can accurately assign stars to kids which we find more often than not they can’t. The whole ‘star’ process is one to sell website subscriptions and make money. Has nothing to do with accuracy. It is a business.
