Like LSU exposed AU? I mean damn, why did AU even continue the season after that.

Everyone knows the SEC Championship is this Saturday in Auburn.. Look at the history of SEC Championship Games, that are regular season rematches and how the outcomes have been.

You think LSU exposed Auburn? That's cute. It is common knowledge that Auburn let off the gas and learned from it. To compare that game, to the total domination of UGA by Auburn is cute. UGA had to pull in 2 extra blockers on most pass plays because the UGA OL couldn't block AU's front four.

The IB is half the equation with UGA being the other half. That's the way the conference is setup right now. UGA deserves to be in that discussion.
I would be all for getting rid of divisions and letting the top two ranked SEC teams play in ATL regardless of old division affiliation, however.

The SEC Championship game has featured a rematch of a regular season game a total of six times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2010). The team which won the regular season game is 5–1 in the rematches, the lone exception being in 2001 when LSU defeated Tennessee in the championship game after losing to them in the regular season.

Did LSU expose Auburn? Maybe Clemson?
It was a bad game. It happens. We very well could get trucked in the SECCG, but to say we were "exposed"? Seems a bit premature. But then, Auburn fans were calling for Malzahn to be fired after the Clemson game and again after the LSU game, so I guess you do tend toward hyperbole. I would think you are exhausted after jumping to all those conclusions.

You do realize that after the Iron Bowl it would still be Georgia as one of the top two ranked teams, right?
ETA
Not being snarky or a smart aleck....just pointing it out.

Is it common knowledge or just AU talking points? A pretty mediocre LSU team shut AU down after going down 20-0, and a very pedestrian LSU offense outscored AU 27-3 over the last 2 1/2 quarters of the game. Spin it however you like, but the results are the same.
And you said yourself AU learned from the LSU loss. You're being disingenuous if you think UGA and Smart won't have learned something either.

Apparently you are the only one that "knows" this.
The SEC, NCAA and everybody else is saying it comes the next week.

Wasn't really applying that to this year. FTR, I think UGA has earned its spot in the SECCG this year.

Malzahn continues to make coaching mistake after coaching mistake, so lets not pretend you learned anything from it. And of course it is YOUR opinion you took your foot off the pedal. LSU thinks they made adjustments. Either way, as I look at the results on both of the schedule pages, it shows a "W" beside LSU and a "L" beside Auburn.
But you can go ahead and make excuses. We won't listen and we don't really care...but go ahead. Make excuses.

You're right, common sense isn't as common these days. When you decide to come out from behind the rock you've been living under, I'll remind you of some interesting details..
The East hasn't won the SEC since 2006, over a decade. The winner of the Iron Bowl has won the SEC 8 times in that same time frame.

Congratulations. At one time the West had a similar record against the East. We ruled the SEC. But you know what? Things change. If they stayed the same Auburn would not have won the National Championship in 2010, because, well, it had been 50 years since they had won it.

Congrats on Alabama winning it 6 of those 8 times. Wow. No need for Auburn to show up, because, well, Alabama usually wins it, right? Or have you been living under a rock?

If they want to say they took their foot off the gas on offense, they would still have to account for giving up all those points. Did their defense take their foot off the gas, too?
For some reason some Auburn fans want to count all their wins as their great team, and their losses as let downs. Nobody else can have a let down.....just Auburn.

12-0 Bama makes the SEC championship game irrelevant. 12-0 Alabama is IN the playoff. Period. A loss in that game would drop us to 4 at the lowest. No way we drop from #1 to #5. None.
An 11-1 Bama team that sits out the SEC Championship game makes Bama irrelevant.
Oh - and Bama would then have lost to a team that LSU beat - the same LSU team that lost to Troy.
Bama would most definitely be ranked #5, or lower.
You forgot about Auburn this Saturday? Bama ain't backing into the playoffs this year.
They lose, they're out.

Due to my calculations, that means Auburn has won the SEC twice, correct?

Not necessarily. Especially if Auburn won by one point they aren’t dropping Alabama below Georgia. It will still be Alabama and Auburn as the two top ranked SEC teams. You guys got blown out and exposed which is why you dropped so far.

I'd be happy with 6. I just hate that we do the whole conf champ thing when one conf will always be left out.

I guess it's a good thing we don't have to play LSU again..
