Ouch. I think that is more of an indictment on Georgia than it is Vandy.

Also, still don’t think Arkansas is the #1 team. Our pitching wouldn’t hold up in Omaha at the moment.

Which is dumb. I think we should be ranked. One of the D1Baseball staff said Georgia was on the edge of being ranked going into conference play.

In conference play:

1-2 vs Texas A&M
1-2 vs #5 Tennessee
1-2 vs #10 South Carolina
2-1 vs #1 Vanderbilt

I think Georgia is a #20-25 team. Assuming this is true, going 1-2 against Top 10 teams UT and SC should be expected. The A&M series loss was bad, but we just won a series against on the road Vandy where we led or tied in 25/27 innings. And we beat a good Clemson team in a midweek game last week. We should be ranked IMO

SC was out of the top 10 in the SEC in your power ranking so going 1-2 against us prolly did you in.

A few things:

The SEC is cannibalizing itself which, obviously, had to happen in conference play.

I think the people who dropped Vandy so easily are going to regret/move them right back up in a week or two. IMO they're still the #1 team in baseball.

Georgia is 6th in their division with a sub .500 record. No chance they're ranked unless they started top 3 and people just hold them up artificially.

A&M's 13 year regional steak is coming to and end this year.

Please tell me how Michigan and Indiana St’s resumes are better than Georgia’s.

The truth is that 10 SEC teams are definitely Top 25 teams but the polls will never tell the truth. Michigan’s best opponent is 13-10 Iowa. Indiana St is #55 in ELO rankings. The polls are ignoring SOS and just putting teams in based in conference record.

You're not wrong, but it's always like this. West Coast and Northern schools have a lower bar.

Ole Miss bullpen got exposed this weekend. Bats (without Tim Elko) can’t out score bad pitching. We gave up a million free basses on Sunday and somehow we’re still in the game late. Gotta get it figured out since our starters typically don’t make it past the 6th.

The bats would though. And sometimes that's just baseball.

In our Friday game, both Texas and KSU threw their future first-round ace, and the game ended 13-6 with both pitchers getting knocked around a good bit. And they weren't the only first-rounders that got roughed up this weekend.

Considering the series was razor close I don't think Ole Miss should have dropped that far. They showed a lot of grit. Unfortunately neither team's pitching staff covered themselves in glory during that last game. Whoof.

Still, any series against a great team like Ole Miss that you walk away from with a series win is a thing of beauty.

See I had quite a different perspective on the weekend. I’m becoming way more bullish on the offense. The lack of power has had me nervous but this team has proven it can hit. Especially the top six. Leatherwood looked like a scary hitter finally and that will help. But I thought Baker showed some good signs too. Didn’t hit much but he showed a much better approach by taking bad pitches and drawing walks. Pitching gave up around 30 walks on the weekend. That ain’t gonna happen often, if ever again. If we hadn’t blown Sunday at Florida we’d be right where we need to be.

You could probably drop all these names in a bag and draw them out randomly. All good teams. None of them are perfect, but I don't think any of them need to be.

Blown Sunday? That game wasn't blown by Ole Miss, it was almost blown by Florida. You trailed 6-2 after 5 innings and Florida had to hold on to win 6-5. So not sure what you mean here. We have blown more games with our pen than probably anyone.

We needed two from y’all. You haven’t been playing well. Didn’t mean we blew a lead, just an opportunity.

Idk, I think Ark and Vandy are way above the rest.

Getting a bit more concerned as injuries are stacking up and pitching looks a bit more vulnerable, especially with some tough series ahead.
