Is Louisiana really that shitty

We have the worst parts of "culcha," and the governing conservatives are...incompetent, putting it nicely. On the other side, our hard lefties are so far up their own arse, they couldn't speak to moderates even if they wanted to. We have a weird mix of the worst of both sides...plus culcha.

For Alabama to only be at 2.48% growth, there must be areas in South Alabama that are losing folks by the thousands. Living in north Alabama in the Athens/Huntsville/Madison/Decatur area, it's tough to imagine places growing much faster than around here. The growth around here has been insane for the past few years. I would have thought AL would be WAYYYYYY higher than 2.48%. I guess they're all coming to this region and nobody is going to the Southern part of the state.

Louisiana proves democracy doesn't work. State would be better off breaking into smaller entities with New Orleans becoming a city state of sorts.

Baldwin County has exploded. If it's not the fastest growing county in AL, it's in the top 2-3.

Population growth is a metric that is worth considering, but an attorney once told me to look around and consider the concept of being judged by a jury of your peers.

It's not all bad living in a hayseed backwoods area populated with common sense salt of the earth folk of all types, regardless of color or creed.

Alabama's growth rate as a whole is greatly muted by having several of the Black Belt counties in west central Alabama losing population. The fastest growing counties are growing very rapidly though...

Here's a look at the 6 fastest growing counties in Alabama based on growth rate % in Alabama from 2010 thru 2023:

1) Baldwin - 39.09%

2023 - 253,507
2010 - 182,265

2) Limestone - 38.5%

2023 - 114,565
2010 - 82,782

3) Lee - 30.64%

2023 - 183,215
2010 - 140,247

4) Madison - 23.23%

2023 - 412,600
2010 - 334,811

5) Tuscaloosa - 21.94%

2023 - 237,373
2010 - 194, 565

6) Shelby - 19.44%

2023 - 233,000
2010 - 195,085

Choklahoma looks like a nuclear bomb went off and clear everything off. Great place. Very appeasing to the eyes.

yessir absolutely - welcome home

there are two distinct elements causing the population explosion especially in the coastal counties - neither have to do with alumni or people with generational/family ties to SC -
