The rankings are done by east coast liberal arts majors. They don't have one ounce of common sense.

No, I actually subscribe to the WSJ so I can keep up with business news in my industry and those tangential that affect it. It's what people with jobs and careers often do.

Now go back to reading twitter posts about the Kardashians.

UGA fans would have you believe they're on par with Florida and that there's some significant academic gap between them and a school like Auburn. But looks here like they're just an average university. Gee, who would have ever thought that people who associate with UGA would be full of shite and delusional?!

Not sure why he's getting downvoted. If you read the methodology you can see that liberal arts colleges benefit from the way this is formulated.

You have the region down correctly, but I didn't state personally that they are #1. For example, my vet for over 20 years is a Fla. grad and owns a very successful clinic. He said that the State kids that he gets as interns are much more advanced that the UF, Auburn and other regional vet schoolers. He said that they've actually been hands-on involved with some procedures that the others only were familiar with through the classroom.

VU is like 70% Asian and Indian, that does not sound diverse to me yet they are Top 20

Seems a bit like reverse racism white but not asian.

Taking the WSJ and the USN&WR rankings and combining them to get a 1-14 average rank for each SEC School...

Consensus SEC Academic Rankings:

1. Vanderbilt (#1; #1)

2. Florida (#2, #2)

3. Texas A&M (#3, #4)
3. Georgia (#4, #3)

5. Auburn (#5, #6)
5. S. Carolina (#6, #5)

7. Tennessee (#7, #7)

8. LSU (#8, #10)

9. Missouri (#11, #8)

10. Kentucky (#9, #11)

11. Alabama (#12, #9)

12. Ole Miss (#10, #12)

13. Arkansas (#13, #13)

14. Mississippi St. (#14, #14)

State, how does it feel to be a consensus dead last?

It's called Animal Science, just like the major at UT

Considering State pumps out quality engineers and vets I'm guessing most of them are living comfortably and quite happy with their degree.

Those stats just prove my point, diversity is correlated to these damn rankings!

Vandy, Florida, Texas AM all are more diverse than UGA and ranked ahead of us. Bama is the least diverse and they are 3rd to last.

How that factors into the quality of an undergrad education IDK
