Dan McDonnell should be number 1. An agreement was in place when everyone thought Bianco was gone last year and then LSU changed its mind at the last possible second.
He’s looking for a reason to get out of Louisville and would do really well here

Dan McDonnel: 7 Super Regionals and came away with 5 CWS appearances.

He's only 52 or 53 years old
He's lived and coached in Oxford so he and his wife??..are at least familiar with the area and lifestyle.
He's a top tier coach.
We can literally triple his current salary.
There's really no reason to delay at this point. We've given Blanco every chance to turn us into a perennial contender. It's just not working out.

Aren’t Bianco and McDonnell good friends and wasn’t there concern two or three years ago that if the former was fired the latter would not accept an offer from OM?

This is a business and if this is the case, he isn't our guy.
We have lame ducks at 2 our of 3 of the Big 3 sports....
I detest Arkansas but they have it going on now....all of their big 3 are trending upward....we look like a jr high program compared...

That concern should be gone when Bianco finishes last in the west and is actively interviewing for other SEC west jobs.

If he had indicated that he was loyal to MB and wouldn't have accepted our job due that loyalty through backchannels, then no, he wasn't our guy to begin with.....no sure where you missed that but hopefully, this clears up my point.

I remember a while back people said O’Conner at UVA might be interested.
I know it won’t happen but I would cum for days if we somehow stole Vitello from Tennessee. Not because of him being a good coach but because of the melt it would cause

It would be a sight to see all the oranges absolutely destruct over baseball. I remember hearing that UT made substantial increases to baseball after last year.

I went down a rabbit hole when searching for potential HC candidates.
Did y’all know Okie Lite was a college baseball power house at one point?
From 1981-1999 Okie Lite went to the CWS 11 times (7 times in a row) and then kind of fell off when Ole Miss became relevant in baseball only going to one CWS since 99.
Let that sink in their dark days are equivalent to the best of the Bianco era.
