How is Bentley not in the doghouse enough to be on kickoff return yet in the doghouse enough to not play running back when the starter is depleted and hurt and Matt jones is ineffective ?
Id like that question answered
How can you be doing both scenarios ?
It would be different if he literally never sees the field but plays on special teams with no issues. Yet in the actual offense he’s MIA.
What’s the deal?

Kiffin is all over social media. He knows what people are asking.

I’m guessing Bentley is holding out or in some nil legal dispute.

So why is he on kickoff return only? Is it so he “qualifies” for nil bonuses for games played in type deal. ( that’s just a guess )
This makes no sense at all.

That’d be odd considering he just saw how Judkins NIL issues affected the team last year. Perhaps the RB shuffle over the offseason ate into his promised $$$?
Kind of shitty this year would be a non factor for him as he could have put out great tape for the league. The guy who runs the senior bowl had a higher grade on him than Judkins

The whole thing is extremely odd. Never seen anything quite like it actually.

Recall the past two years’ offenses. There were games where our star receivers and running back were not utilized at all or very sparingly. It’s been this way since Lebby left. Why do you think that is? It’s either Weis or Kiffin. It’s like they’re trying to get be too smart. Saving Bentley and Preiskorn for the big games so there is little tape on them against cupcakes. When not realizing that every game in the SEC is a big game.
We can’t convert third downs. Our playbook is shite. There is no red zone offense. And we don’t play our best players. It is insanity and this is the third year of it.

Prieskorn was injured for many games in 2023. He was notably banged up against the Tide but was back at 100% against LSU. His blocking paved the way for us to put up 300+ yards on the ground against the Tigers.
I'm not ready to declare the sky is falling yet, but I will say the offensive gameplan and playcalling on Saturday against UK was reminiscent of Bama in 2023. It was one of the few times we have looked lost out there under Kiffin. I include the 2024 Kentucky game with 2023 Bama and the Texas Tech bowl game beatdown, by the way.

The huge issue people are missing is if you hold an opponent to 20 pts you should win. The offense completely lost this game because either Dart intentionally held the ball to long or a vast majority of the plays were long developing. You need to take what is available, use a variety of quick hit and long developing plays. And for all means understand >40% of the field is in the center and you can press the edges in a rushing attack!

When they shite the bed they go all in. The receiving options other than Harris were non existent. Prieskorn and Lee each had a catch but other than that I didnt see much of anything. Were Watkins and Wells doubled every play? Seems odd Williams hasnt had an impact.

Wells dropped the couple of passes that came his way. Watkins WTF knows.

I think that Kiffin & crew went in with a too-basic game plan to beat Kentucky and it bit them in the arse.

He should know better than that by now. I don’t think he’s a moron, so it must be genuine hubris. Lane is no rookie, and has been at it too long to drop the ball like he did Saturday.

Predictions for South Carolina
Rebs 24
South Carolina 20
It’s a super close game and we play super tight knowing we can’t lose again

If we drop the game this Saturday, then the wheels will be completely off and I suspect we may see NIL dry up as a result. Too much has been invested in this team for nothing short of a trip to ATL and/or the playoffs.
Posted on 10/2/24 at 12:59 pm to Pickle_Weasel
I don’t think NIL will dry up but Kiffin will lose a lot of support behind the scenes after he bitched and moaned about not having the right players for 2 years and now that we got them he shite the bed.
That’s why I think we beat the frick out of USC and handle LSU relatively easy going into the off week.

If we don't, fan support is really going to fall like a rock. Everyone knows this season is playoff or bust, and it feels really close to bust

Yep
You want the fans to pay for all the players and sacrifice all the time and energy and more money for coming to Oxford for these big football weekends to support the program and after all that, you still lose… people will re-evaluate what they’re dropping all this money on and route to other things , like a vacation instead of 500 a month to try to buy a linebacker

It's amazing how all this has climbed to the edge of the crapper with one bad afternoon of not showing up. All this is the result of the playoff and what that has done to anything that's not the playoffs. Sounds like y'all are just like me in that I'm not interested at all in a bowl game even if it's a good one. Not this year anyway.
