Dude currently on my Philco, saying the Egg Bowl will be on Saturday next season. Any truth to this rumor?

Texas v. A&M is already announced for Saturday, so that would mean the SEC is giving up Thanksgiving - which would surprise me

Judkins asked for a better O-Line and a 100k pay increase for next year, but there are some big teams tampering hard for him. If you asked me halfway through the season if he’s worth it I would’ve said hell no, but offensively he’s the only reason we won the Egg Bowl. I’m on the fence about it. I say pay him 850k or leave, which is probably what they’re going to do. Seeing that he had 2/3rds of his yards after contact this year was an eye opener for me.

Bye Felicia.

We can be a better more well rounded team with that much money freed up. We can get a few offensive linemen and another good receiver with that money. I like Judkins but a running back is not worth that much unless they’re Reggie Bush. Especially when they come back “making demands” after being arse the first 4 games of the season and causing locker room drama

Him and his mom can leave. Spend the money on more valuable positions than RB

Seriously. I appreciate everything he has done but he’s not worth that much money or drama.

I can certainly understand the OL part. They have been arse way too much this season and that included Pettus and then he went down and turns out he was among the better ones it appeared. As for the 850, that's gonna be a major gnashing of teeth for Kiffin and crew if it's really worth the ROI. I would not want that decision because if they let him walk the backlash gonna be heated from plenty.

Sorry Q, we can pay someone $100,000 to run up the centers arse on 1st and 2nd down like you do every time

Good luck elsewhere

At a certain point, the money matters. It’s not just us letting him go, goddamn he’s 20 years old wanting a million dollars of NIL just for himself . That’s a little bit greedy . If other places wanna pony up that much for him, be my guest

He’s already well compensated without this latest bargaining attempt . We give and give and it’s never enough , the players demand more and more.

This is pretty difficult. Kid has been special for us and could go down as the leader in so many rushing categories but this is pretty ridiculous. If he wants to say other teams are offering him x and he wants us to match, that's fine, but asking for a better offensive line is throwing his teammates under the bus and also telling his coaches how to do their jobs. Running backs get hurt too easily to give them this kind of leverage over your budget and team.

All that said, have no idea if any of what is being said is true and sucks for that Judkins if it isn't. RantingRebel, no clue who you are and you have provided some valuable information, but you also said Dart was out for the year so there's some reason to question this. I'm hoping your source is 100% certain this is correct cause if not bringing this on here is just potentially turning fans against someone who will likely go down as an all time great rebel. If you're certain, appreciate you sharing the information.

Our fans are something else.

Judkins is, without question, the best RB in school history, and we're suddenly too good for him.

Well, Dart’s dad was the one who leaked that he was out for the year

He's 400 yards and 2 TDs off the all-time school records despite playing in 18 less games than the two backs ahead of him (McAllister and Gunn). He is one of two backs in school history with consecutive 1,000 yard seasons (shahtaht to tLawFirm). He is one of two backs in SEC history with 15+ TDs in his first two seasons. The other one is Herschel Walker.

I want to be perfectly clear how I feel about our fans who want Judkins gone: they are fricking idiots.

And FWIW, I never said it was a ridiculous request or anything. I think you’re reading too much into it. Him having to have 2/3rds of his yards after contact is unfair. It’s reasonable for him to request to upgrade to offensive line. They have been holding us back all year. You can still ride or die for your teammates but you’d be living under a rock to not realize we have to change something there. You can argue about the money, but he’s only making technically 425k per year. Deal was 850k for 2 years. Giving him 525k isn’t exactly out of our budget considering we have around 12 million to work with *just for football* next year

525k would be a 100k pay increase. I was just saying I would go all the way up to 850k before I told him good riddance. Our budget for next season is incredible. Get him a good offensive line and I think he’ll be back to his freshman year self. He was running furious during the egg bowl

Nobody said we are “too good for him”. He’s not worth that much money. No running back is

I get the whole running back argument and certainly there is a greater risk of injury there and destroying any ROI, but if that $12M budge is right that's 5% of your budget for the best player on the team and a potential 1st or 2nd round pick, maybe an All American. That brings a lot of value to the school and brand recognition. I don't like the talk about the offensive line, he needs to leave that to the coaches but I'd imagine some other rbs are making $500k+ next year so that is probably the market for a top tier guy.

Judkins isn’t big enough or fast enough to be a 1st or 2nd round pick. Even so, running back is a very easy position to replace. There’s not a single game we would have lost this season if we didn’t have Judkins. We are better off letting him go and getting a few offensive linemen along with a decent linebacker or another WR.

Players that make “demands” like a better offensive like while simultaneously asking for more money should be told to hit the door. He wants to have his cake and eat it too

Any indication that the $12M will be replenished yearly? How much of that is earmarked for the incoming class? Desperately need transfer portal players. How far can they make it stretch?
