Mizzou can never have nice things.

He had a shot at another nice run and a bigger job. My guess is JH knows DL is going pro.

We are double damned.

Briles? We can just hide him in the box. Don't let him out to talk to anyone.

Or what about his son or is he untouchable too?

The offense can still be good next year. BO has to make a good hire. Even if Lock leaves the offense will return 9 starters. The OL and Crockett/Rountree will make a very good run game.

Can you imagine how ku fans would take it if Mizzou won the SEC with Mangino on the payroll?

I'm in.

Is Drew Lock doing the interviews for the new OC or will Sterk allow Odom some input? We have to name somebody great quickly or Lock is gone for sure. Bummer.

We don't want a full spread sell out OC. Rules out Dykes and (I'm guessing) Harrell.

Heupel was doing a great job balancing a power run game into an explosive spread passing offense.

So. Helfrich - had an aggressive, explosive passing game with a big running game for many years under Kelly at Oregon. Stewart, Blount - powerful runners with great production.

To be honest with the current offensive talent Mizzou could run any offense it wants.

Power RBs? Check
Big Atheltic TE? Check
Speed and Length at WR? Check
Big experienced OL? Check

Honestly not too worried, but I think Lock does leave.

Our Offense turn around was because of Huepel.

We need another real OC that can continue to build off of what JH started.

OR we can go the "walters" route and get a filler.

Curious to see who we land.... If anyone.

You are right. This offense does have a lot to work with for an OC looking to attach some big numbers to his name.

Any fired head coaches looking to rebuild their reputation as an OC for a couple of seasons?

Mizzou would be a good place for Kendal Briles to get back on track. He did well with FAU talent. He is only 35, and really needs to kick arse somewhere to wash off the Baylor stink before he can get a HC offer. Basically the same path as Heupal.

Best reply

Does anyone know if JH will stay thru the bowl game or not bc I have to assume there's not much he can do for UCF before their bowl game.

UCF is probably the best G5 job in the country. He had to make that jump. Good for him. Can't blame anyone.

Just spoke with someone who I trust and he said Lock is certainly coming back. His ties to Heupel were overblown.

In a move that was kept quiet until Tuesday morning, Josh Heupel was named the new head coach at Central Florida, a move that upset some players on the Missouri offense. The Tigers’ offensive coordinator, according to a tweet from center Trystan Castillo, did not communicate the move with his players. It’s unclear how the Missouri players learned of the news

Not sure, but it sounds like their are hurt feelings...... Which is normal upon losing a popular coach...

I just got back from Columbia (doctors appt.) My Doc down there is very tight with the football program, and he believes Lock will be back. He also doesn’t think the offense will change much no matter who is hired as OC.

I have more news on other players injuries and recovery that I can’t divulge at this time. They’ll play out as time goes by.
