Royals fans I have talked to are stoked about this guy. He must be a huge human being from what I hear.
Armageddon at Arrowhead video popped up in my suggestions. Never has grass in a helmet looked more beautiful.

Cristobal has always been a great recruiter. How much of a coach he is can be argued.

I think he has often been given credit for others coaching guys he recruited. I guess we will see.
They played against each other in the baseball regionals 2-3 years ago. MO State's coach got real worked up about something after a couple of the games. Several Ark fans and talking heads really got worked up about it.

I think they were offended that he dared to step out of line and speak up.
Wha???

Fanbase???

They get 2,000 people to a basketball game,.... maybe,.... when they are playing a good team. Up until a few years ago, they would get fewer than that to their football games.

Their decision to move up to D-1 in everything is a confusing one for this sports fan. They don't have/spend the money to support the D1 programs they have now very well. Every time they get a new coach, spending parameters are one of the first conditions that comes out.

And it's not like they were one of the biggest spenders on their football team in the lower levels, or a perennial championship contender. They don't even make their level's playoff system most years.

Guessing they determined they have to make the jump to survive.

Yes, I am. Some schools have benefited from this new Wild Wild West of unlimited transfers. I'm sure some/most of their fans may think it is great.

Between medical years, grad years, and the other exceptions the NCAA is regularly allowing, the old 4 years is it model left the station several years ago.

Transfer portal

Curious if most college football/basketball fans think the current transfer situation needs fixing?

I do. Too many kids who attend a different school every year of their college career.

So, here's a suggestion for a new system. Doubt it would fix all the problems, but it would at least add some pain for excessive use of the new transfer rules.

First transfer - free and clear, just like now. Too many coaches lie to get kids to sign on the dotted line. I would like players to have the option to get away from a bad situation if it is the exact opposite of what they were promised. I also think kids should get a chance to move on if the coaching staff they put their trust in is shown the door.

2nd transfer - Both the team and player commit for 2 years. Gotta transfer again? Get it right this time.

3rd transfer - sit out a year before you play, like the old transfer rules.

Probably not the perfect plan, but it forces players to put more skin in the game.

I also think teams having to put up transfer fees (paid to the school the kid is leaving) to bring in new players out of the portal (kind of like Soccer clubs in Europe) would slow things down.

I would like some sort of system to reduce schools treating the Portal like some kind of farm system.

Putting some rule like no NIL deals for the first year at the new school after a transfer would also put a screeching halt to the current transfer craze.

The folks over on SEC Rant are obviously mystified about the low level of support or interest the MU fan base has for baseball. They just do not understand. They don't get that MU baseball competes with 2 pro teams, a popular minor league team, and a consistently good D1 program down south for fans and attention.

Most SEC baseball teams have no real instate competition for attention or $ or players, outside the other SEC schools.
Am I the only one who sees no way Belicheck puts up with any demands from Nico or his camp?

A really good, interesting take on the Cantwell recruiting from Gabe

LINK

How many teams can offer incoming freshmen big money to kids that probably won't be a starter? Especially when that kid may get mad when he does not play and heads to his next school.

He has ruled out MU apparently

Cantwell was on the radio this morning down here in SWMO.

They said he is down to 4. Is announcing on Apr. 30.

He said all the schools he is looking at have crazy good facilities. Said really all big Power 5 schools do. Said Nebraska's facilities were maybe the best, then restated all the schools had amazing, big # facilities.

Said he has not paid a ton of attention to NIL stuff. Letting his team handle that.

The NE transfer LB is transferring as well. Sounds like the D coaches may be telling kids hard truths this week.

It's time we will find out about Burden. He will be removed from all the people telling him how great he is (which seems to be A LOT of people with those St. Louis kids) for the first time in his life. He might wilt, or he may get a giant chip on his shoulder and let it inspire him to work like he never has before. He has the talent to be a big producer.

Saw plenty of opinions from Mookie Cooper's mom over the years he was here, Don't think I remember seeing or hearing anything from Burden's mom once.

That what Texass do. See SWC and Big 12.
6 Ls in the last 8 games. Either the players quit caring enough or they ran out of gas and could not figure out how to overcome that.

Either reason leads to some uncomfortable, but fair, questions for the coaching staff.

It's a shame. This team has potential and had a path to a rematch with FL.

That's what should have happened.
Instead, we were outhustled and outdisciplined by an inferior team.
