I was worried about Bryant similarities with Simmons long windup. The coaches' inability to develop a dependable TE is showing. We don't have the horses to handle a QB refusing to even look at options in the progression because he does not like/trust them.

I was hoping he would break through this season! I like his motor and think it could turn him into something special. I hope he does not wear down when we start hitting the bigger, more talented SEC O-lines. But that worry applies to every D-line player in the SEC, not just MU or Hopkins

He's just stating a reasonable opinion. And now we know he has some experience to base that opinion on.
Frustrating. A weak TE room is a big wasted opportunity.
And for the program that produced Winslow, Rucker, Coffman, Egnew, Albert O, and others, it burns a bit.

This was a good win for several reasons.
Saw several things to like consistently throughout the game, especially from the defense. Play we can work with and build on.
And it came against a functional D1 team. This was not a win over the JV or freshmen team that many non-con games can feel like. Good plays in that game were real.
And plenty of mistakes for the coaches to use to keep practices productive for the next few weeks.
I hope what we saw from the O Line in the second half is the real O-Line play. They seemed to clean things up after halftime, but it may have been the Beakers D-line wearing out.
I thought Hopkins might take a step this year at DE. I hope he and Smith can keep moving the needle up.
Norfleet seems to have the tools to be special at TE. Sure wish he would just take the next step.
Hope the glimpse we saw from Simpson at DT becomes the norm. More depth on the D-Line wil be needed for the SEC.

This makes me nervous. Giving me flashbacks of the QB from Clemson that fell flat on his face after making our good tight end hate him.
Hopefully, Simmons does not take 5-6 seconds to read the defense on every pass play.
Claiming a championship decades later helps us fit into the SEC more.

And Lock covered some warts/holes on the offenses he was asked to lead as well. Plus, he may deserve entry just for putting up with that prima donna #1 wide receiver he had for the last couple years.
If I remember correctly, he did not have the best offensive lines in front of him and was asked to make a 100% boom or bust offense work time after time after time.

Wonder if the Kentucky kid is regretting his decision to look for greener pastures now. Did not see enough of him to really get a sense if he was in the same league of running back as Hardy and Roberts.
Dang it.
