Josh Heupel named coach at UCF

With what they have that is a pretty good job to fall into. I can't blame him. UCF should be able to simply out talent a lot of teams on their schedule.

This will sound like someone from out of nowhere but Brent Vigen would not be a bad choice at all. He coached Carson Wentz who is a starting QB in the NFL and no one had heard of. Josh Allen, who he is coaching now, has been dinged up but should get drafted.

He won multiple national titles as the OC for North Dakota State. Wyoming's 7-5 record this year doesn't look amazing, but... well... its Wyoming and they lost their last two games after their star QB was injured and couldn't play.

Wyoming will have gone to back to back bowl seasons the last two years which is pretty impressive considering its Wyoming.

He runs what is called a pro-style offense but having watched him over the years that is everything from I formation to single back to Shotgun. He will go with what works. He'll spread the field, he'll go power run, slow down tempo, or hurry up.

The only drawback, and it might be a big one, is that his career is the in upper midwest/west.

Doesn't TCU use 2? Maybe we can steal 1.

How'd that work out?

Kendall Briles makes 350k a yr, but he'll be a hot commodity

Offer him 800k today and get a jump on the rest of these schools. Kiffin is probably taking another job anyway.

JH is gone. As soon as he can pack, he’s headed to Orlando. Recruiting needs, existing players, plus they have a game in the Peach Bowl to prepare for.
Mizzou is on our own.

Don't know how thriving the escort business is around central Missouri...but if it's worth a shite, Hugh Freeze may be interested.

He is? For sure? I heard his presser in Lincoln, and figured he was already there. Who’s recruiting up there for him?
I think that is a bad situation. If I were UCF and already had my new coach hired, I would send the old one packing. Nothing good can come out of Frost staying till after the bowl. Effects current players, and recruiting. If I was Heupel I would demand he be gone!

And Briles can recruit Texas. Baylor won some good recruiting battles during that time.

nice job with this. I vote Briles because of his roots in Texas.

Walters #2

Briles is preferable because he is also a QB coach.

Not sure how we can hire a non QB coach at OC with our current structure

OK, but no more of the "Do you like white women?" comments when recruiting.

Kendall is far enough removed from that for me.

Briles is a shitbag and can stay as far away from the University of Missouri as possible

Great list

Walters, Dickey, Wright would be my top 3 in this list.

Don't know enough about the bottom half of the list to give an opinion.

Well, that sucks arse. I was hoping he'd be around to help ensure the bitch slapping of the Steers.

Oh well. Just get someone who's competent, Lock would trust, and runs a legitimate offense. And, preferably, sticks around longer than two damn years.

Elaborate on what? the fact that he helped his dad enable one of the most toxic situations in college sports history? No thanks. If hiring him meant the difference between a national championship and winning seven games or less every year for the next 30 Years I'd take winning 7 games.
