I think Odom will look for a Heupel clone. With a guy who really was ready to be a head coach, he may be a little tough to replace.

It would have been nice if we had a coach on staff being groomed as his eventual replacement.

But I take solace that we have Barry's brother on staff as the "Inside' LB coach for our 4-3 defense.

How do you know we didn't?

How do you groom a QB coach when you already have one?

Navynuke said as much last week when I asked if an on-staff replacement for Huepel was being groomed. As he seems connected more than most, I take what he says about it at face value.

Didnt Briles son arrive at Baylor after the actual incidents. I know the lawsuit was filed while he was there but the assaults themselves were years before. Or am I wrong?

Don't be surprised if Finley is the OC. It's a strong possibility.

Kendall Briles joined the Baylor staff in 2008 as the inside receivers coach and the recruiting coordinator.

He is a piece of shite just like his dad.

I think you might be right. In order to keep him or Elarbee we’re going to need to promote 1of them and give the other a pay raise to keep them.

Navy what’s your info on K. Briles?

Or is just based on him being at Baylor during everything

What info do you need? He is directly responsible for helping foster the very culture that led to their current situation. He tried to pull a Tim Fuller and skip town to avoid the shite storm by leaving a P5 coordinator position for FAU. What a fricking joke.

Sounding more and more like we won't be searching for OC/DC anyway.

What's your opinion regarding Riley?

If they promote Finley to OC, could they make Austyn Carta Samuels QB coach? He’s really young, but supposedly works with Lock a lot in addition to his duties as recruiting coordinator.

Yes. I'd say that's all possible

I think Finley could work out if they make the right hire for QB coach. I prefer the OC being a prior QB for a couple of reasons, but it isn't a prerequisite for being a great play caller.

My Top 5 OC’s
Hugh Freeze- it’s the SEC
Joe Jon Finley and hire a QB coach
Graham Harrell- His Offense is similar to ours but runs a little more
Kendal Briles
Troy Walters

Whoever they hire, we must be able to and want to run the ball in the SEC.....a balanced offense is always best.

Where did all this love for Findley come from? He's very inexperienced:
2yrs HS
2yrs GA
2yrs College TE Coach.

Does anybody really think he's staying? He needs a fatter resume and he's going with Heupel. He was at OU as a GA when Heupel was OC there. He'll be going with the coattails.

Just going with the flow lol

I would be fine with that.

That would probably force us to actually look for someone close to Heupels skill set.
