Thomas Davis only had one D1 offer and became an All American then 16 years as a pro including 3 Pro Bowls

Foster was definitely underrated coming in. He was a damned beast and guaranteed positive yards. Loved watching him except against us. Might not have been lauded as much as he should’ve. But just a solid back all around.

recruited as a fullback, then switched to DT his freshman year before becoming a 3 time All American DE. Great choice.
IDK.He was the ATC DLOY and all state DL.He was heavily recruited by by all the big boy schools (Clemson,Ohio State, Florida, etc)
No surprise his success came on defense
but becoming arguably the best defender in UGA history wasn't on the radar

Ben Beckwith @ State
Walk-on who became great OL.
Named the SEC lineman of the week three times in 2014.
Second team All-SEC in 2014
Burlsworth finalist that same year.

How often does a 2 star recruit hold an SEC record....
Posted on 7/29/22 at 11:39 pm to ChuckUFarley
Colt McCoy, Jordan Shipley, Major Applewhite.

Not my school but someone from Arkansas definitely needs to say Brandon Burlsworth.

Devonta Smith - Barely a 4* out of high school (20th ranked WR)
Josh Jacobs and Mac Jones have already been mentioned.
Eddie Jackson was a 3* ATH out of Florida. He's been in two pro-bowls, 1 first team All-Pro, and was named part of the 100 Greatest Chicago Bears of all time.
Vinnie Sunseri - I've got a lot of fond memories of some of the plays he made.
Chance Warmack was a 3* who was a unanimous All-American his senior year and left Bama with three championship rings.
Robert Lester and Terrence Cody were both 3* in the same recruiting class.
Kareem Jackson was a 3* as well. Has been in the NFL since the beginning of time.

Brock Bowers went from relatively unheralded 4* to the best tight end in the country about halfway through his freshman season.
Jordan Davis was a 3*.

Everyone was recruiting Davis tho.
You must be confused.
UGA wasn't even targeting Davis until we hired the UNC DL coach.
He visited UNC twice, NC State, FSU, and Florida before visiting UGA and committing 2 weeks later. He had 4 SEC offers. Even South Carolina didn't offer him.

The old joke used to be...
Q: Whose the only person in the SEC who can hold Arian Foster to under 100 yards in a game?
A: Dave Clawson
2007 (Pre-Clawson), Foster had 1,500+ yards and 14 TDs in 14 games. (2008) With Clawson, Foster had 735 yards and 1 TD in 11 games.
