USC and LSU are given but Washington had a better hire too. OU and ND are definitely goin to trump that hire

I do think Florida should have maybe checked some other guys out

Id rather have Napier than chip Kelly. You guys always do this

Napier was simply more economical, and could end up being a great hire. He just improved FL recruiting in one day on the job ...

fLorida wont beat UGA
and
Lsu wont beat Bama.
fLorida just did it for cheaper than Lsu
both are Losers.
who cares about which one made a worse hire?

USC payed 110 to a guy they are hoping does more with equivalent, or less, talent. If you want to win championships, that’s a bad hire.
LSU is hoping Kelly can elevate with slightly better talent, albeit against better competition. That’s a better hire, the real caveat is it’s a move in the twilight of his career.
Florida is the only one of the 3 who made a hire with real risk, also the only one with real upside. Two hired known commodities, one made a gamble. That doesn’t make it a bad hire, if anything they are the only one making a logical play to be elite. A good coach who should be able to elevate with improved resources, time will tell if it pays out.

Napier might turn out great.. but it sure does seem the fans/boosters are pushing the hiring….
We want offense in comes Mullen
We want recruiting in comes Napier.
They may want to try finding the right culture fit..

I think that you’ll regret this thread in 2-3 years when Billy is beating LSU on the reg.

Just landed a whale, still worried about UFs hire…

It’s not a bad hire at all. Of the coaches hired only Aranda would have been better. This what aggravating about LSU fans. Y’all have spent the last 48 hrs melting your faces off to hire a name coach that no one knows how he’s going to work out and then come here to shite on everyone else’s hire when everyone on this board has shite on Brian Kelly as a coach prior to him changing jobs.

Personally I don’t see the need to criticize either the BK or Napier hires. I think both bring solidarity and structure to their respective programs.
BK is a high floor guy. Would say his tenure will be 5-6 years and LSU will be contending in 2-3. He brings stability in coaching staff and great organizational skills. LSU recruits itself with the kids and families being extremely loyal to Louisiana (dumb people of the Rant are making too big of a deal of the “cultural fit”.).
Napier is a high ceiling guy because of his age and structure. Florida fans are hoping he will bring stability and a foundation through recruiting much better than we have been. The Florida program is almost a complete rebuild from an organization standpoint so we need someone that emphasizes recruiting/program building, but has the longevity to maintain it if things are going okay.

Imo Napier has a higher ceiling than Kelley, but also a lower floor.

you say this because you are praying that Napier doesn't show how stupid your AD was for not hiring him.

Billy Napier might end up being better than the rest of the hires.

Wrong, dude is good. Hide and watch.

Time will tell won't it?
Napier has won the same number of D1 national titles as Kelly. Just sayin'

This thread is nonsense. Billy Napier is highly regarded as one of the best young coaching candidates available. He was basically offered the Auburn and USC jobs last year but held out. Dude is a relentless recruiter…Tommy Bowden calls him a pitbull on the trail. Already being reported that he has strict demands out of the university to better support recruiting budgets/analyst etc. He’s a CEO mindset coach, which the program needs.
My big concern with Billy are his average offenses. He’s going to need to bring in some good Coordinators around him. But don’t let the other big moves make this move seem less significant.

I like the hire. Think he is a quality, up and coming talent. Time will tell.
