Harsin gave his weekly presser today. He pretty much blamed the O. Said the D and ST both played good enough to win. He refused to put it all on Bo and said other guys have to step up as well. He also said the play calling needs to be better.

I noticed sometime in about the 3rd quarter that Harsin had the play sheet in his hand and was over there talking to Bo before plays. It looked to me (and I could be wrong) that he took over play-calling - or at least was giving input on plays.

I have no complaints with Mason right now. The D has gotten better and better and definitely played good enough to win Sat.

Well I mean he isn’t wrong. Not sure what else you could ask of our defense, they held A&M out of the end zone and forced field goals.

Defense hasn’t given up an TD in 6 quarters… offense hasn’t scored one.

Starting to sound familiar.

Been saying that since Penn State. Harsin just figuring out Bobo is a terrible OC?

Don’t like the sound of that. We’ve Been there done that.

Edit: Just went back and listened to the entire press conference. I don’t see where you get that from. I didn’t get that impression at all.

Harsin did not take over play calling. Jesus! He’s has the play sheet every week. He folds it and sticks it in his pants at the waist and pulled it multiple times over the course of the season.

Shenker also stated that the guys (I’m assuming pass catchers) couldn’t figure out what aTm was doing on defense because of the multiple looks they were getting. That could be why Bo and the WRs were so out of sync. Multiple throws either Bo or the WRs read the defense incorrectly.

They also blitzed a lot in the A gap and our guards didn’t pick up the blitz well at all. Sometimes they weren’t responsible and the back would pick up or had already bailed to go out in a route.

I also have liked Bobo’s play calling. Only thing I don’t like is the fades into the endzone. I’d much rather try some type of crosser or rub route. Our WRs can’t get open on their own so Bobo has done a good job of scheming them open.

We just got out played this weekend. Their defense had us locked down in all facets of the game. Tip of the hat to them. Our defense played great ball.

Hopefully he didn’t take over playcalling then because it got worse. I don’t think Bobo is the answer at OC I’ve said that from the beginning he’s just another retread with no success outside of a few years at UGA.

He didn't say it at the presser. I just noticed during the game (on TV) that he had his play sheet out and was talking to Bo a lot just before Bo went to the huddle. It LOOKED like he might have been calling some plays. I don't know this for a fact, but that's what it looked like to me.

Play calling looks fine. Execution, not so much against Big 6 competition and we know why. It has been said for 2 years now.

That is the most reasonable assessment I’ve heard or read from anyone about last weekend’s game. I share you opinion.

Several posts in, and no one has brought up QB play? Big arse gorilla sitting in the middle of the room, and is being ignored.

Harsin has been very consistent at moderating excessive praise or blame directed at Bo. He focuses a lot on how it is easier for players to execute when The rest of the team plays well.

-Easier for OL to block when they communicate and work together
- Easier QB to make reads and good throws when protected in pocket
- Easi r to catch the ball when QB finds WR open and makes good throw
-Easier for WR to find space when other WR runs good routes

Then all at works best when the coaches make right playcall to exploit the defense. I know this is obvious when you think about it, but so often we just forget it.

There's few players that are good enough to compensate for failures from others on the team. A lot of them have statues in front of stadiums

I think Harsin is pointing out the reality that Bo wasn’t the sole reason we lost. The entire offense played poorly and we were out schemed by A&M’s defense.

Bo had two nightmare mistakes late in the game when were desperately trying to make something happen on offense. The whole offense struggled the entire game to put together a consistent drive for points.

Of course Bo has to own those mistakes. They gave A&M the score to win the game. But it’s inaccurate to just throw all the blame at the guy.

Yep. And he's going to be communicating with Bobo throughout the game, therefore, he'll have the play sheet to look at and discussing situations, etc. I'd be angry if he wasn't doing that.

Yep again. Until we get more on the OL, any good DL is going to eat us up. We looked better against Ark and Ole Miss because their DL is ok at best. uga, A&M and bama have and will eat our lunch at the line until we get better.

I think y'all should watch the film a bit after the day of, there were some good play calls, but Bo seems to just key in on one side, particularly the right side when he leaves out of the pocket, usually prematurely, and misses wide open receivers. Then he misses throws. Bo/Bobo also seem to have a hard on for Shedrick Jackson who just isn't great at making athletic moves to get open, yet he's on the single side of the ball. In my opinion I think Harsin is saving both a QB and WR for next year+ that hopefully does this better, and has a better synchronization. Although I think don't think Bo is headed to the NFL next year, he needs a good understudy to take over.

Hopefully we get the entire Receiver room looked at, it looks like Kiesau did actually help receivers get some separation this game, but their QB to WR timing is still out of sync when Bo is out of sync.

This isn't an O-line problem anymore lately they did really well actually according to some ratings for pressure against the QB, and the massive holes they made for the RBs. The times Bo is running it is usually due to either times when he was meant to get out or a really well made Blitz package that is hard to pick up by the defense. Of course there are a few not great plays, but most in the last few games have been fantastic.

Receivers actually are getting open all the same, but they aren't being recognized by Bo, or Bo is either overthrowing or throwing to the grass.

While I'm here, a mild ad for a few guys who do this well every Monday night post-game weekend "TheWarRapport" with someone that actually used to put together film for Auburn in the past, Mike Gittens and another great dude Ike Jones. Mike G also asks some of the critical questions in pressers that gets Harsin into discussion mode. This is a YT insider thing they do, but for 5 I believe it's worth. They also discuss stuff at half/post-game as well as some other sunday/midweek treats.

Yep definitely a group effort by the offense. What is most telling to me is when I see Bo get flustered it almost always seems impossible for him to re-focus.

Yeah, Bo played great! That fumble was an amazing play.

Remember, Bo's a paid athlete now. Critiquing in allowed. Don't get your feelings hurt.
