Here are the changes as outlined by the College Football Playoff’s website:
A shimmering, metallic gold gradient – “Championship Gold” – has been applied to the iconic CFP football, enhancing its prestige and visual impact.
The logo’s bracket strokes have been thickened, its ends have been rounded and the inset has been narrowed to better reflect the CFP National Championship trophy. These details add a more modern look to the mark.
The corners of the football’s laces have been slightly rounded to further replicate the curvilinear nature of the overall mark.
The three-letter acronym “CFP” becomes a primary reference and is now integrated into the primary logo system, joining the iconic CFP football in a bold, unified visual identity.
The typeface ‘Video’ becomes the CFP’s primary font. This new direction creates a distinct, uniquely ownable visual system designed to engage and excite fans in new ways.
To deepen the connection between the six bowl games and the CFP, a series of bowl game lock-ups was developed. These visualizations reinforce the bowls’ essential role in the journey that crowns the true national champion.
